Chapter 698: Chapter 698 - The City in Ashes (Full-Length)

Broken plummeted freely through the chaos, the wind roaring past him as he desperately reached out. With his right hand, he caught Alora's, and with his left, he grabbed Ivana's. The three of them tumbled wildly through the air, their bodies spinning uncontrollably.

Explosions erupted all around them, the heat from the shattered meteor scorching their skin. Smaller fragments, even though still big enough, rained down alongside them, fiery shards from the once-massive meteor tumbling in every direction.

Yes, they had succeeded in destroying the largest threat-but the danger wasn't over. The smaller meteor fragments were still devastating.

Chunks of the meteor struck the city below, each impact creating massive explosions that sent shockwaves tearing through buildings. Fire and debris rippled outward, toppling entire blocks. The battlefield beyond the city was no safer-each piece that struck the ground caused massive damage, crushing demons and unfortunate combatants alike.

The destruction was relentless. Every impact brought a thunderous roar, shaking the earth and the sky. Smoke and fire spread in every direction as the ground erupted under the force of each collision.

Amidst the chaos, Broken and the two women continued to fall, the ground rushing closer with every second.

If they hit the ground from this height, there was no way they'd survive-not even with their strength. Broken had to think of something, fast.

His grip on Alora and Ivana tightened as he scanned the chaos below, searching for any way to break their fall.

Broken could use Moonlight Pocket Dimension to take himself and Alora to safety, but... Ivana? There was no way Broken would let Ivana fall to her death alone. He had to save them both.

As they fell, Ivana struggled to move closer, her voice barely audible over the roaring wind. "Broken! Take Princess Alora and go! I can handle myself!"

"No!"

"No!"

Broken and Alora shouted simultaneously.

Alora turned her gaze to Ivana. "If we combine every skill we have, maybe we can absorb the damage together."

"No, Princess! That's not an option," Ivana yelled. "You two go. It's the only way!"

But Broken's grip on Ivana's hand tightened. "No, Ivana. I won't leave you behind!" "Broken, it's better for me to take the fall than for all three of us to be lost!" Ivana insisted. "I said no!" Broken snapped.

Ivana hesitated, then said, "Let the Princess enter your pocket dimension. You stay here!"

But that plan wouldn't work either. Broken couldn't send Alora into the Moonlight Pocket Dimension alone-she could only enter if he accompanied her. There was no way around it, and time was running out.

"No one is being left behind!" Broken shouted.

He had to find another way.

Broken had no one to call for help. His allies were either caught in similar chaos or overwhelmed by the destruction below. There was no salvation in sight.

Until...

It appeared.

A massive figure shot toward them at incredible speed, striking them hard enough to send their bodies spinning uncontrollably. A powerful gust followed-accompanied by the unmistakable shadow of a massive skeletal dragon.

The dragon's enormous jaws snapped shut around the three of them, but instead of crushing them, a green aura enveloped their bodies. They floated within its maw, suspended and protected by the strange, shimmering energy.

They all knew the unspoken truth-Demian was still out there, and he hadn't been defeated

yet.

Without hesitation, Broken summoned Beebot, its familiar mechanical form scuttling up to them. The three climbed aboard the crawling carriage, standing atop it as it sped forward, weaving through the wreckage and flames toward the city.

But then...

Something new caught their attention.

Above the city and battlefield, fiery patterns began to spread rapidly across the sky, weaving like veins of molten lava through the darkness. The patterns connected, forming an enormous magic circle that glowed with an intense, burning light, casting a fiery hue over everything below. It loomed, covering the entire city and battlefield like a foreboding canopy.

Broken and the others looked up, their faces lit by the fiery glow. "What now?" Broken muttered, a sense of dread creeping into his voice. Everyone on the ground turned their eyes to the sky. The brief hope they had felt after the meteor's destruction was quickly snatched away, replaced by a collective sense of despair. The netizens watching the battle unfold on live feeds were quick to react. [Carl_Chalmers]: "This is giving FINAL final boss vibes, and I'm not emotionally ready." [Stephen_Vegors]: "Didn't we just beat the meteor? GIVE US FIVE MINUTES, PLEASE!" [Dawrod1997]: "Plot twist: it's not an enemy, it's just fireworks for our 'victory.' Right?

Please?"

[Ravi_Shankar_7503]: "Oh great, now the SKY's casting magic. Who do we fight next, King

Bael?"

[Dylan_Heller]: "At this point, I'm convinced the devs hate us. Seriously, did they think this

through?"

[Epsilon13]: "This is why I stopped doing endgame content. TOO MUCH SACRIFICE."

[Kenneth_Burton]: "Okay, serious question: where is the OFF BUTTON for this magic

circle?!"

[McKenneth_Pearison]: "Someone, send Broken some health potions and maybe a nap. The guy's carrying the entire server right now."

[Sean_Weil]: "Demian: 'I'll be back in my final form.' Everyone else: 'Can you not?""

[Corodix]: "Is this still the same battle? Or is this Season 2 of the fight? Because I'm

emotionally drained."

(Author's Note:)

Broken: defeats meteor, saves city, barely survives. The universe: "Cool story. Let's give him another problem to solve." Seriously, who's writing this?! Oh wait...

But hey, we did get Galactron casually riding a skeletal dragon like it's no big deal. (Shoutout

to him for saving Broken and his ahem "wives"?)

Now, about that glowing magic circle... What is it? Final boss summoning portal? Alien invasion? A magical stress test for everyone involved? Share your theories below.

And if you're vibing with Broken's nonstop chaos (and this chapter), don't forget to drop a Power Stone or Golden Ticket-it's like a tiny health potion for my soul.
