Chapter 396: - It Will Put Broken at a Disadvantage

Broken, Charmelyn, and Marlene reappeared simultaneously in Gremory's Throne Room. As usual, the demon sat casually on the throne, sipping from a glass filled with a crimson liquid. She glanced at them lazily, as if their return was little more than a mild amusement.

Without wasting time, Broken used his Moonvine Knuckles to retrieve the gloves he had dropped during the previous battle, quickly storing them back in his inventory. The demon showed no interest in the items, despite knowing it could have weakened her challengers by taking them.

"Ah, the challengers return," Gremory's voice echoed through the grand chamber, dripping with amusement. "How delightful. I was growing bored of waiting." She leaned forward slightly. "I wonder... have you started to lose hope and plan to surrender to me yet?"

Broken summoned his Wavebreaker Spear, his body enveloped in a glowing blue aura. He spun the spear once, then slammed it into the floor with a resounding thud.

"Surely, we don't look like we're about to surrender, do we? I'm sure you can read that," he said with a faint smirk.

Charmelyn, standing to his left, and Marlene, on his right-still in her human form-nodded in agreement.

"This demon bitch seems awfully lonely. She talks way too much for a demon," Marlene quipped, reverting to her in-game persona, a stark contrast to her usual self outside the game.

"That's why she plans on keeping us here, I guess," Broken replied, a slight smile crossing his face.

"But that's not going to happen!" Charmelyn chimed in confidently.

"Let's stick to the plan and give it everything we've got for the win today!" Broken said, his voice calm and determined.

Gremory rose from her throne, her movement accompanied by the stirring of the camel, now fully awake. The sound of her heels echoed through the grand chamber as she strode forward, her long legs carrying her with an air of dominance.

"I've always enjoyed watching my victims struggle," she said, her voice dripping with amusement. "Seeing them fight with everything they have, only to be crushed in the end- desperate and defeated. Because, in the end, nothing you do will matter against me."

With a flick of her wrist, Gremory threw her glass to the side, the sound of it shattering ringing through the room. "Surely you understand the difference in our levels by now. No matter what you try, the three of you stand no chance, even if you use every ounce of strength you possess."

Broken lifted his head, a faint smile tugging at his lips as he recalled the final conversation he'd had with the two women beside him during their last strategy meeting.

"I infiltrated your expedition, and I know it was wrong from your perspective," Charmelyn had said. "I won't apologize or ask for peace, but I understand that for this battle, we need to work together. So, let's do our best for now."

Marlene had nodded, her tone casual. "Alright, I can be cool with that. Let's put everything aside and settle our issues after we're done with this battle."

Broken had agreed. "We have to give it everything we've got. Winning this fight is all that matters. No wasting time in that demon's throne room-kill her, and we take the rewards!" "Good idea," Marlene had replied, her determination clear. "I'm on board with that."

"Me too," Charmelyn had echoed, sealing their pact to focus on the fight ahead.

Now, standing together in Gremory's throne room, those words hung in his mind, fueling his resolve.

Amidst this chaos, Marlene wasn't just in her usual werewolf form. This time, a pair of wings emerged from her back as she soared through the air, disappearing into the walls and reappearing from different angles, attacking Gremory in tandem with Charmelyn.

As Gremory took to the air to counter Marlene's flying form, Marlene swiftly transformed back into her werewolf state, delivering powerful claw attacks. While her flying form allowed her to move faster and evade Gremory, her werewolf form delivered devastating damage with

each strike.

"And what's that? Can that bitch transform into a demon too?"

Maylock jumped in with an explanation. "I believe this is an ability she's kept hidden from most people. After making a contract with a demon beast, Marlene can borrow their abilities and forms. That's why she's so versatile in her attacks, switching between speed and raw

power effortlessly."

"They're all incredible," Kingsley commented, impressed by the battle unfolding.

Jovina chimed in with a laugh. "But that bitch is still ranked below me, hahaha. This fight would've been easier if I were there instead of that dog bitch, hahaha."

"But is it really okay for Marlene to reveal so many of her abilities while we're all watching?"

Elincia stepped in. "This was a mutual agreement between both sides. Shadow Wolves are watching this in real-time as well."

"But won't this put Broken at a disadvantage, revealing so much?" someone else asked.

Maylock responded calmly, "No, they've reached a fair deal. When Broken starts revealing more of his abilities, the broadcast for the Shadow Wolves will be cut off. It's all part of the

arrangement."

"Well, let's see if that pervert Broken can keep up with the two Divine Champions or if he's just going to be a burden!" Melliandra's voice rang out, drawing everyone's attention toward

her.

"What? Why?" she added when eyes fell on her. "Yes, Broken is a pervert and useless. I'm only here to watch him lose again, big time."

Laughter erupted as others began clapping at Melliandra's blunt remark.

"That's some good acting, Melliandra," Elincia teased with a grin.

"Shut up! I'm serious," Melliandra snapped back.

"Yes, she's serious," Kingsley confirmed from his seat beside her.
