Chapter 498 Revenge; Chancellor's Wrath
Chapter 498 Revenge; Chancellor's Wrath
--
The Dragon Chancellor's True Dragon Form was way bigger than the Young Patriarch's.
His body could easily cross over ten thousands of miles in length alone. His wingspan was so massive that they could easily cover a planet or two, maybe even more if he extended it even further. His entire body was covered in thick scales that made him look invulnerable to everything. Anybody who could see him will feel the sheer overwhelming might he possesses, even from a distance.
The chancellor's wrath and vengeance-filled roar shook the void itself. His voice echoing through every corner of it. He was so powerful that this alone deterred most of the weaker Void Creatures that were approaching the army, showing signs of fear, which was highly uncharacteristic of them. Comparing him to the Young Patriarch was just unfair. The old Dragon Chancellor had lived through eons. He was one of the very few people in this modern day that had seen the Ancients in action, and that says a lot about his age.
He lived through wars and had been the patriarch of the Wise Dragon Clan for more than ten thousand years now. He had seen and experienced a lot. He is one of the very few creatures in the Primordial Chaos that touched the ceiling of Life Evolution, and since then, he has been finding ways to evolve even further.
Had the Young Patriarch lived through the crisis, though, he could've easily surpassed the Old Patriarch's achievements. He would've reached this level of strength way faster than the Old Patriarch did, and maybe, just maybe, reached even further heights in life evolution too.
Alas...
This is why the old patriarch was extremely heartbroken about his death. The Young Patriarch was a blessing to their race, yet he was plucked before he could even reach his full potential.
That's why he craves vengeance right now.@@@@
He swore that he would not leave the void without killing the murderer of his young disciple.
ROOOOAAAAARRR!!!
The Void shook once more at the Old Patriarch's wrathful roar. And the one that bore the full burden of this was none other than the killer of the Young Patriarch.
Its size couldn't even hope to compete with its enemy. Hell, it wouldn't even fill the gaps of the Old Patriarch's teeth. Moreover, it could recognize the difference of strength between the young and the old.
If Void Creatures could sweat in nervousness and trepidation, it would certainly be happening to it now.
And so, with his overwhelming might, he sent another stream of pure annihilating plasma to the creature, burning it to nothingness. The old patriarch won't stop, so long as there's even a single cell in this thing that exists.
As he annihilated the killer of his Young Disciple, the Old Patriarch paid attention to the army.
He saw the other Paragons teaming up to deal with the other Royal Guards. They can't kill them, but they're able to push them back just fine, enough to prevent them from interfering with the carpet bombing of the void.
Speaking of the carpet bombing, the Old Patriarch sensed that the density of the void air within their immediate surroundings has thinned out considerably.
It isn't because the shells they used contain mysteriously special properties or whatever; it is also not because they did something special. There was no real need for any of that since their presence alone was enough.
They are creatures of the Primordial Chaos, the very existence that contradicts all that the Void stands for. Just as the void could hold back the Primordial Chaos, the latter can also do the same. They're mutually restrictive to each other.
And since every living being born within the Primordial Chaos carries its breath, millions of them marching through the void is the same as pushing it back. That's why the concentration of the void air here thinned out considerably.
Once the old patriarch couldn't sense any trace of the young patriarch's murderer, he stopped the plasma torch. Relief and satisfaction coursed through his body, causing him to roar heroically in exhilaration.
Of course, what has been lost couldn't be retrieved. But at the very least, some level of justice was served.
This is when he set his eyes on the Heart of the Void. Even as he was, the Old Patriarch couldn't help but feel a strong sense of wariness towards that place.
He had entertained the thought of visiting that place, but whenever he saw it, it would always remind him of why he always hesitated on doing so. That place is dangerous even for a being like him. This was an instinctual response, one that the Old Patriarch will never dare to ignore.
He still wouldn't go there now. But it doesn't necessarily mean that he's out of options.
The Old Patriarch's maws open slightly. He's condensing a breath of plasma like he's never done before. His predatory eyes remained focused on the heart of the void as if he was trying to see through it and search for his target.
This accumulation lasted for a while before the Old Patriarch released it.
And thus, a streak of white laser illuminated the void once more, and unlike before, it pierced through the layers of the void's depths and hit something that's been hiding there.
