Within the Dungeon
Aria feels thrilled beyond belief as she surfs through the labyrinth on a wave of water with her hands in her pockets.
At first, she was just trying to mimic how cool Scarlet is. But it eventually became a habit and she finds herself moving leisurely as well.
And she doesn’t stop moving even when she runs into monsters, just letting the wave under her wipe them out with ease.
She pushes through as quickly as she possibly can. All to show off for her cousin.
Aria doesn’t see Scarlet very often anymore, and ever since she graduated from her undergraduate and became a graduate student at the Guardians University, she sees her even less often. Since her particular graduate degree has her following her father to other planets.
After pushing for ten minutes straight, she finds the first gathering spot, where she finds three other students in the spot. Only one of whom is the same Class as her at Class IV.
So she and the Class IV ignore the Class II and Class III students, both of whom run away in a hurry, before Aria and the other Class IV start to fight against each other. But after several clashes, Aria’s opponent activates some sort of shadow skill, making him vanish into the shadows of the large, circular intersection that is the gathering spot.
Aria narrows her eyes before spreading both arms out and sending a massive flood of water all throughout the intersection. Knocking the Class IV graduate student out of the shadows in the process.
Only for a Class II creature that looks like a famous Class V Guardian to fall down from the ceiling in some sort of attempt to ambush them. But the thing gets killed rather quickly since it’s only Class II.
Aria blinks in surprise as she looks at the thing’s corpse.
The copy looks extremely similar to the original Class V Guardian, just with glowing orange eyes that have no whites in them.
Aria’s eyes narrow on the copy, barely even paying attention to the Class IV graduate classmate she’s already killed in the intersection as she does. Then she finds the corners of her lips quirking upwards at the sight. Especially when she continues traveling through the dungeon hunting monsters until she finds the next gathering spot and sees the copy there.
And the next one after that.
And the next one.
All of the copies are copies of Class V Guardians, just much weaker versions.
On top of that, they’re all Guardians she saw in the announcement about which Class V Guardians would be watching the Warden Cup. Meaning they’re all present in the audience watching.

That’s a fun way to do a tournament.
Scarlet
“Yes, that’s right, it’s just what you’re all thinking!” Will shouts, his voice echoing through the stadium as he spreads his arms out to his sides. “The special gimmick for this year’s Warden’s Cup is something no one has ever seen before! The bosses of the Warden’s Cup are all clones of people in this very stadium watching the tournament!!!”
And, on cue with his words, a large screen appears in addition to the main screen. With the screen itself showing one copy after another of various famous Class V Guardians. ṝἈŊօbĘᶊ
All of the Guardian clones are significantly weaker versions of them. Seemingly copies of the Guardians from when they were Class II.
But when the video reaches the twentieth floor of the dungeon, and the first mini-boss is shown, everyone in the audience immediately begins to roar their applause. Despite it only showing two dark silhouettes.
Because the silhouettes the video shows are very recognizable as the Purple Knight of Humanity and Xyvandra Vyxela Yxethra, the leader of the Mindeater Clan. Then it shows more clones until it reaches the fortieth floor, where it shows two more silhouettes.
One of the silhouettes belongs to the Red Knight of Humanity while the other belongs to Vorgrim Blackthorn of the Black Flame, the leader of the Oni Clan.
The video continues once again all the way to the sixtieth floor, where it shows the silhouettes of the Black Knight of Humanity and Amaterasu Raiden, the leader of the Kitsune Clan.
After that, the silhouettes of the Blue Knight of Humanity and Lucius Tor de Blackheart, the leader of the Ghoul Clan, appear on the eightieth floor.
Things change, though, when the video reaches the ninetieth floor. Because two more mini-bosses appear there instead of the usual every twentieth floor like before.
Of course, these next two make even more of a splash amongst the audience than the previous mini-bosses.
Because it’s my parents.
Amelia, the White Knight of Humanity and Leonidas, the Blood Calamity. Both of whom have grown incredibly popular across most worlds both for their power and for the fact that they’re my parents.
Which is quite ironic considering my father’s old reputation years ago.
Then again, his reputation isn’t the only one that’s improved over the years as gramps’ has as well.
Although nowhere near as much. And most of his popularity comes from other planets that he never attacked, unlike Earth.
I feel the corners of my lips quirking upwards bit by bit as the video begins to move past my parents. Gradually rising up the floors.
Yeah, I can definitely see where this is going. Although I’m not sure about one specific detail yet.
All the way until the video finally reaches the one hundredth floor. Where it shows a single large hall themed with black and blood red colors. With the video slowly moving through the hall until it reaches the grand double doors on the other end of it. At which point the doors slowly creak open to reveal a thick crimson mist of blood filling a grand throne room with a single silhouette sitting lazily yet intimidatingly on the throne.
A silhouette I strongly recognize.
Because it’s me.
This is going to be hella fun to watch.
