Chapter 269 - 193 Beauty and the Snake_1

Chapter 269: Chapter 193 Beauty and the Snake_1 While the young patrol team members were scouring every blade of grass under the scorching sun,

She tilted her head, staring at the creature under her finger with a fascinated look.

The serpent kept blinking rapidly, lying docilely on the table without moving.

"Draw a card." Elena tilted her head toward Liu Feifei. With a slight movement of her hand, the Tarot cards floated in mid-air, with the card back facing Little Dragon’s owner.

"Me?" Liu Feifei seemed very interested albeit slightly embarrassed. She murmured, "Just a random card?"

After receiving a positive response, the slightly reserved witch closed her eyes and randomly pointed at a card in the air.

"Upright ·Moon."

Elena’s husky voice sounded by her ear.

"Ah!" Liu Feifei suddenly opened her eyes and looked at the gypsy witch in a panic. "I suddenly remembered something urgent... I need to step out, I’ll be back quickly... could you please look after Little Dragon for me?"

As she spoke, she put her hands together beseechingly, looking towards Elena.

The gypsy witch smiled slightly, raising her left hand in the air to retrieve the Tarot cards that were suspended mid-air back to her palm.

"My pleasure." She smiled delightedly, watching the new first-year student dash off behind the distant bookshelves.

The whole corner immediately lost its former liveliness.

Only a serpent pretending to be dead on the desk and a beautiful witch were left.

"How long do you plan on lying around?" The witch was poking around on the body of the snake with her slender fingers, seemingly considering where to make a start. "If you’re not planning to say something, then I guess you won’t mind me taking some snake skin to make a bag."

"This little bit of skin...wouldn’t even be enough to make a coat for your sand-hour beetles." A hissing voice suddenly came out from the serpent’s mouth.

It was staring with cold eyes at the gypsy witch opposite it, the tip of its tail lifting slightly.

A grain-sized, translucent flying bug was tightly pinched in the crease at the tip of its tail.

Elena narrowed her eyes.

"Guess where I found this little bug?" It was a raspy voice, seeming exceedingly pleased.

"Is this a threat?" The witch’s voice remained incredibly calm.

"A threat?" The serpent hurriedly shook its tail, dislodging the little bug, its rigid mouth corners tugged up slightly. "No no no, this is just a friendly greeting...a little secret between us."

The sand-hour bug that was free of the snake’s tail fluttered its wings, flying lightly in mid-air, circled around a few times and then disappeared into Elena’s Kun Bag.

The curve at the corner of the serpent’s mouth became even more pronounced.

The gypsy witch withdrew her hand from the serpent, took a tissue from her bag, wiped it vigorously and then threw it with disgust into a trash can not far away.

"Who would want to deal with a...a stinking monster disguised as a pet." She sneered.

"Naturally it’s those who raise a bunch of weird bugs on campus and didn’t throw a pitiful little monster to the campus workers committee immediately...existences." The serpent blinked its eyes, smoothly responding: "If there’s any difference between the two...maybe it’s just a matter of purpose."

Elena kept silent for a moment then turned back around, returning to her position by the floor-to-ceiling window.

"Even though I can guess who your owner is...I don’t think a little monster, reeking of fish, sneaking into the top university serves any purpose."

"So, I hope that you won’t carelessly roam around this campus, which could lead to unpredictable consequences."

The witch’s voice was very cold, but it couldn’t hide her dislike:

"For example, killing a little kitten."

"Although I question your accusation," The serpent coiled itself into several knots, leaning its head forward, its tone very tame, "but I will follow your wish, ma’am."
