Chapter 806

Anton still had two or three days before the others arrived from their escort mission. He planned to use the time to level up his Diablo II characters and to create more of the Mithril Tablets of Survival Spells. Even though the tablets were made of Mithril, the fact that once the maximum number of uses for the skills inscribed on the item, which was two hundred and fifty uses per skill, the item would be destroyed meant that replacement items would be needed.He would reverse his working hours, though, which meant that the majority of the time would be spent leveling up and the rest would be spent creating the tablets.

Anton did not tarry anymore and started his work immediately. By the time Captain Joraniah and the other team members arrived, Anton had managed to create a total of twenty Mithril Tablets of Survival Spells aside from the ten he initially completed. He had given two of them to his father and sister, and the remaining eight, he would give to the captain and his other teammates. The twenty that he completed would be stored in his inventory in case the captain would like replacement tablets. He also managed to reach the maximum level for his Barbarian character, so he only had the Amazon and the Assassin characters left to level up.

When Anton’s team returned, he met his teammates by the door, and the captain asked everyone to meet up in the meeting room. The meeting was just basically informing everyone of the mistakes they had made and how to improve themselves to be more effective in succeeding in the mission, but since the mission was just an escort mission, the meeting was short. Once the captain was done talking, Anton gave the eight Mithril Tablets of Survival Spells to Captain Joraniah.

Anton described the four skills inscribed on the tablet and told them of every detail of the skills and the tablets that they would need to know. Even though the skills would only contain half of his power, everyone was excited about the tablets and the skills they offered.

Sudarta and Helena then asked Anton about the tablet accessories that he mentioned before. He had already prepared the videos from the most famous video streaming platform about different smartphone accessories that could be adapted for the Mithril Tablets. The video showed different cases made out of crystal, rubber, and other materials that would fit all genders. Even the male members of Team Gorvin became interested.

While they were watching the ads for cases, the captain asked about replacing the tablets once they were used, and Anton assured Captain Joraniah that he could replace the tablets easily. After the phone case advertisements were done, Sudarta and Helena asked Anton if he could make those accessories. He told them that he’s not a jeweler, so they had to find a proper artisan for those.

The funny thing was, everyone got curious about the actual smartphone from Earth, so the discussion was diverted to the modern technology that Earth had. The discussion took longer than usual because Anton kept showing them examples using videos from the streaming video platform. He did not mind at all since his teammates were just using the discussion about Earth’s modern technology and watching the videos as some form of stress release that they had acquired from their latest mission, even though the mission was not difficult.

Even the captain had stayed and joined in the conversation. The main thing that captured their attention was the fact that Earth was devoid of magic, and that made their reliance on technology progress fast, compared to other realms. At first, they thought that Earth was peaceful, but then Anton showed them videos discussing the wars that occurred and were still in progress on Earth. Basically, everyone realized that even if a realm did not have magic, the fight for resources would still occur. Besides, no one in the room would trade their magic for the life, even the rich ones, that the Earthling had. Magic was something that permeated their very being, and they would not know what to do with themselves if magic disappeared. Magic had given each of them endless possibilities. If they continued to grow in power, there might be a chance someday that they would be able to roam different realms.

After they discussed Earth, which took them a few hours, Captain Joraniah told everyone that they would not have any mission for the next two days, but they might receive a new member. Anton was just amazed that wizards kept flocking to Nermador to fight the Undead Coalition, even though the fatality rate was extremely high. He thought that, at the very least, a lot of wizards realized that they couldn’t leave the coalition alone. After the meeting, a few of his teammates planned to look for a jeweler who could make phone cases for their mithril tablets.

At first, Anton thought that it was vain for his teammates to think about phone accessories like cases, but the tablets that he had made were a little fragile, so a case might be beneficial. He returned to his room to start leveling up his newly created Amazon ladder character. He still planned to follow the schedule that he had created and would continue creating mithril tablets.

Since he was bored with making Mithril Tablets of Survival Spells, after leveling up his Amazon character a little, he thought of creating a new tablet. He thought of inscribing defensive spells like the Frozen Armor spell and the Assassin’s Fade skill. He would have liked to include the Necromancer’s Bone Armor skill, but he didn’t want to include any spell that might be associated with the undead, even though his teammates already knew that one of his character classes was a necromancer.

With his experience in creating the Mithril Tablet of Survival Spells, he completed his first Mithril Tablet of Defensive Spells in just two days. The tablet contained the three defensive spells that he thought of, which were the Sorceress Frozen Armor, the Druid Cyclone Armor, and the Assassin Fade skill.

He was about to exit his room to look for the captain to show his newly created tablet, but then he heard knocking on his door. When Anton opened it, it was a maid sent to ask him to go to the meeting room. The issue was that the maid had been knocking for a long time and was about to leave to inform the others that he wasn’t present. Apparently, a new member had joined them.

When he arrived at the meeting hall, Anton saw that he was the last one and everyone was waiting for him already.

“What took you so long?!” Captain Joraniah glared at Anton.

“I’m sorry. I was busy creating a new item! Here, check the new tablet that I’ve made!”

Anton then presented the Mithril Tablet of Defensive spells to the captain. Then he told which spells he included on the tablet. The captain turned on the defensive spells, and the Frost Aura and Cyclone Armor surrounded the captain. The captain also faded a little due to the effect of the Fade skill.

The captain switched from scolding Anton to praising him. Even his other team members praised him when they saw the effects of the three defensive spells on Captain Joraniah. The new team member, who was a man who looked to be in his late twenties, looked amazed as well.
