Chapter 79 – Mana gun – Research.

After having that talk with the dwarf I instantly went around the market and tried to look for any mana bow or mana crossbows. I wanted to buy some in order to study them and maybe use that knowledge from them in order to create the mana gun.

Honestly, the research was quite interesting…. And I mean like a lot.

I did failed over and over again for days, but I was getting more and more results.

I won't really talk or explain each and every day and night of the research, since all I was doing was the research and hunting, over and over again each day.

But instead, I will only talk about most important details and discoveries I made.

For my first objective was to do something with that unstable energy. Even if I make the gun barrel somewhat able to make the energy go in straight line, the unstable wild energy will just a bit in straight line before curving, stopping or just straight up dispersing.

Before I do anything about the gun barrel and power output, I need to do something about the energy going unstable and going wild.

The mana gun that I had created had something I called [MGG] (Magic Gun Gear).

Simple put, this thing is behind firing the energy. It uses the energy and then fires it.

But alas, so far most of my attempts resulted in unstable shots. I even had accidents where the guns straight up blowed up.

Finding the problem was…. EXTREMLY ANNOYING.

But, after so many FUKING trial and errors, I managed to stabilize it. And I don't want to talk exactly how many times I screwed up big time, okay?

However, it's not over yet since I have to do something regarding the magic shot as the whole, but fortunately I have obtained gist of what to do.

While trying to deal with the unstable, I discovered something interesting?

By giving MGG specific form and modification, the nature of the magic shot changes.

After fixing the instability I was able to adjust the form the magic shot… Well, it did requite some changes to whole MGG in whole, since there would be new instability.

But I managed to fix them up.

The next part was about the power and the energy the weapon would posses since it would be directly linked to MGG.

Honestly, at first, I tried adding just mana gems and mana stones, but that really didn't do the trick.

So, I changed up the things and created a magazine.

Well to be put more precisely I used the mana stones and mana gems alongside the alchemy to create a magazine that I call [MGM] (Magic gun magazine). This bad boy did the trick, but it wasn't all.

I used necrotic crystals I had obtained from the monsters before and what would you know? IT WORKED!

I changed the attribute of the magic shots from normal to necrotic element.

This is huge discovery!

With this I can make the gun have more specific damage type and stuff.

And the last but not least, the gun barrel.

The gun barrel part may have seemed simple, but as it turned out I can influence the magic bullet in someways with the barrel and the gun muzzle.

Simply put, if I add that spiral form inside the gun barrel, the magic shot will gain some piercing effect, but if I add a straight gun barrel and make a little dents on four sides from insides, giving it an X shape, I can increase the gun range. And this is not all. There was a lot of things I could do with the gun barrel and that resulted me discovering that the gun barrel of the mana gun is the third most important part of the mana gun…... Well, the gun barrel of the regular gun is also extremely important and everything, but with the mana gun barrel you can do some weird and interesting shit that could affect the magic shot performance in different ways. I also got to test if different of materials would affect the magic shot performance and stuff, for example: Is there an ideal material that should be used for making gun barrel?

Honestly, this was an interesting discovery and it will take some time to research it more. I only messed around a bit with gun barrels but I had already saw few different and interesting results and I can definitely say that the gun barrels of the mana guns will be special.

Not only that, but besides the MGG, MGM and the barrel, there are other parts that made the rest of the gun. They are less important then those 3, but still, they are extremely important… Well, pretty much all guns needs to have a different parts besides the trigger, firing mechanism, ammunition and barrel, so that was quite obvious.

However, lets stop talking about and focus on the reality right in front of me.

I have finally understanded and know how to fuking produce them!

And finally, with all the three main parts of the gun now finished means that it's time to finally try and create the first ever mana gun!

I instantly got to the work and created everything from the scratch and before long, the mana gun was completed.

(This is quite busted if I say so myself.)

(There are titles that can directly affect the weapons attack power? I though only classes could do something like that…. Jezus.)

(Its only attack increase and only 10%.... But this is still a lot.)

(I wasn't expecting to obtain something like THAT! This is quiet crazy…... Well, it's only 10% right now so the increase won't be that big, but the higher my level would be and the stronger items I would use, that 10% increase would be way more visible as more time would went by.)

(Wait…. GUN?! Not mana gun?! Does that mean this title works with regular guns as well?! Jezus!)

(Okay…. Fuck it. I'm changing from crossbow to guns.)

"But unfortunately, I'm not finished yet." – said Phantasia while smiling.

(This gun is only the first ever properly functioning mana gun I had made and that was the goal. To not create the most powerful mana gun from get go, but instead create an mana gun that can be first used.)

(And now that I have this guy, I will use him as an true base of my research and start developing my skills in terms of handling those guys while also understanding more and more about them.)

(It will take time again, since if I want to do any big modification or straight up change the base concept or purpose, it will take time, but now I posses the basic necessary knowledge to research and develop those things! Meaning that this is the real start of my research regarding "Mana Guns".)
