Borderlands: Unnatural selection

Get good

Get good

I used the sim room to simulate the weapon based on the design I created and after finding a small problem with the loading mechanism getting jammed if the bullets were fired too quickly I tinkered with the design to fix it. This simulation ability was one Brick had ironically discovered when he asked the room for a rocket launcher in one of his uses of it. I hadn't even considered if the room could simulate weapons for the person using it to use even though I probably should have with the enemies having weapons.-I couldn't be blamed as it was not something that most people would consider and only Brick who literally didn't know any better might stumble across the feature. With it's discovery though I had so many fucking ideas how I could utilize it. Creating a simulated version of a blueprinted weapon was one such use. This let me test out a weapon without first actually making it and thus saved time and resources. While my maker thing was highly efficient at converting already crafted items back to basic materials it wasn't absolutely efficient so a tiny amount of material was lost each time I did it.-

Simulating the weapon first from blueprint form let me skip the process of refining the prototypes and focus on creating a perfected product straight out the gate. I had so many fucking plans to abuse to unholy shit out of this when my company gets started. While it would take quite some time to go over all the Atlas I.P's and convert them to Drake I.P's that are better overall I also needed to add some extra products to make my brand stand out past the old Atlas brand.-

This function would allow me to create these new things fully tested without all that annoying material cost for development. Naturally I'd need to roll out these "new" things over a period of time to prevent suspicions but otherwise I could churn out new and exciting products one after the other. Once I got the planetary shield up over Promethea I could drop all pretense and go ham on the product drops. With the shield up even if the other corporations got greedy and tried to attack they'd find out that it wasn't so easy.-

Normally you'd not even be able to shield something like a planet for obvious reasons. I had Eridian BS though and they so happened to have exactly such shielding matrix tech. Then again they also had tech for creating blackholes the size of marbles for decoration so probably not that strange to be honest. Hell the Eridians had tech for fucking with time itself which let me tell you I was avoiding like the bad fucking idea it is. Anyways I perfected the blueprint for the Cestus gun(name pending) and just needed to wait for Brick to get back so I could get the measurements for him.-

While I waited I did maintenance on my gun carefully with the kit the old man gave me. Cleaned it, oiled it and polished the parts getting rough, standard stuff really. Brick and Mordy came back right as I was finishing up looking bored.

"Nothing good I take it?" I asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Missing persons case turned betrayal revenge killing, guy wasn't even tough." Mordy said with a shrug.

"It was boring!" Brick complained and I nodded sympathetic.

"Well I have some news that might brighten things up for you." I said projecting the blueprints out for them to look at.

They looked at them confused and I sighed as I realized I was going to have to explain it to them.

"I designed a new weapon, a gauntlet that fires bullets when you punch something. I already tested the idea out in the sim room so I know it works. Just need to get some measurements so they it fits." I explained and Brick's mouth grinned so widely I thought he was going to decapitate himself.

"I WANT THAT!" he said eagerly practically vibrating in place.. But I was just passing the time and didn't really care. Roland was the first up and was grateful for the cup of coffee I handed over as we sat in silence. Mordy was next and he had his own beverage of choice in the form of beer. Lil came shortly after and merely drank some juice I offered. Brick was up last to absolutely no one's surprise and oddly had straight water.
