Unrivaled Soldier in the City

Chapter 623 Blood Clan Oath

Chapter 623 Blood Clan Oath

At this, Lin Kuang began to ponder whether Britney’s words were true. After all, she was a member of the Blood Clan; Lin Kuang couldn’t simply take her at her word. While she spoke, he maximized his Perception, carefully sensing her heartbeat and every minute change in her expression. However, Lin Kuang found that she wasn’t lying.

"I see. So, what brings you to the East Sea this time? People from the Blood Clan don’t just show up without reason. Your arrival must be part of some plan," Lin Kuang asked again, looking at Britney.

Britney answered without the slightest hesitation. "Because... because they want to obtain Cain’s left hand! It is said that whoever obtains it will win the Holy War and completely crush the Demon Banquet Alliance.

"According to the Blood Clan’s investigations over many years, Cain’s left hand is somewhere in the Pegasus Mountain area of the East Sea. That’s why we’re here—to find it.

"This matter is supposed to be secret, but I suspect the Demon Banquet Alliance knows about it too. After all, both sides are always investigating each other. If the Secret Alliance knows, then even if the Demon Banquet Alliance doesn’t know right now, they’ll probably find out within a few days," Britney said earnestly.

Hearing this, Lin Kuang couldn’t help but frown. If what Britney said was true, the East Sea could very well become a battlefield. If the vampires started causing chaos, it could throw the entire region into disarray.

Those vampires should be somewhat wary, right? After all, this is the East, not their West. Lin Kuang thought. Regardless, this was something he couldn’t afford to ignore.

"Can you tell me when Adolf and his group will make their move? And where, approximately, is Cain’s left hand?" he asked gravely.

"I’m not entirely sure. Adolf didn’t tell us the specifics, and we’re just the advance party. I expect more members of the Blood Clan will arrive in the East Sea in the next few days. It is Cain’s left hand, after all, and both alliances desperately want it.

"I think they’ll make their move in a day or two, once everyone has assembled. Adolf and the others are very anxious to get their hands on it," Britney said thoughtfully.

"I understand. Thank you for telling me so much. We’ll meet again if we get the chance." With that, Lin Kuang stood up from the bed, ready to leave the hotel.

Hearing his words and seeing him move to leave, Britney quickly stood up, took two quick steps, and blocked his path.

"What is it?" Lin Kuang asked.

"I... I have something to ask you," Britney stammered, seeming unsure how to begin.

"What is it?" Lin Kuang asked again.

"Can... can I follow you? If you don’t protect me, Adolf will definitely capture me. With you around, he probably wouldn’t dare try anything. After all, not even Duke Cros was a match for you." Britney looked up at Lin Kuang with big, pitiful eyes, appearing utterly adorable.

Lin Kuang frowned. Although her words didn’t sound like a lie, he already had several of his women at home. Britney was a vampire; what if she harmed them?

As if sensing the worry in his eyes, Britney quickly added, "I can swear an oath. I will absolutely not harm you or your loved ones."

As she spoke, she bit into her index finger, and crimson blood trickled down it. In the next moment, her finger began to trace patterns in the empty air. Her movements were incredibly graceful, as if she were painting.

Lin Kuang didn’t quite understand what she was doing, but he watched with intense curiosity.

For several minutes, a strange energy guided her blood, drawing a complex symbol in the air that was beyond Lin Kuang’s comprehension. The moment the pattern was complete, the strange energy intensified. The bizarre symbol then floated up and circled once above her head. In an instant, it shot skyward and vanished without a trace.

The instant the symbol disappeared, Lin Kuang suddenly felt a profound connection to Britney, as if something now linked the two of them together. He furrowed his brow, his instincts screaming at him to be on guard.

Seeing Britney’s pale face and how she looked ready to collapse at any moment, Lin Kuang instinctively caught her in his arms. "Britney, what did you do? What’s wrong?"

"This is our Blood Clan’s oath. If I even think of harming you, I will explode and die.

"Through this oath, we will feel a close connection and even be able to sense each other’s location.

"It just consumes a lot of blood to perform, especially since it requires a drop of Primeval Blood. It’s similar to how you Ancient Warriors feel after losing your Essence Blood," Britney explained weakly, resting in his arms.

Hearing this, Lin Kuang nodded. He now believed her completely. His trust wasn’t entirely due to the Blood Clan’s oath; it was also because of the Force of Nature. For some reason, the surrounding Force of Nature seemed to be nudging him closer to Britney, as if it wanted them to be together. It was a baffling sensation.

Nevertheless, Lin Kuang trusted the Force of Nature implicitly, so he chose to trust Britney.

"How can I help you recover?" he asked with genuine concern, looking at the weakened woman in his arms.

"There’s nothing you can do. I have to recover on my own," she replied.

Lin Kuang paused for a moment before shaking his head. "No, there has to be a way. The Force of Nature is urging me to help you. What should I do?"

Hearing this, Britney was stunned, as if she hadn’t expected the Force of Nature to be so insistent on helping her.

"Well... it’s not impossible," she finally said after a moment’s thought. "Un-unless you let me drink your blood. Only the blood of a powerful individual can help me recover, and you... you are powerful."

"Alright. Where?" Lin Kuang asked without hesitation.

"The neck is best," she replied.

"Fine. Go ahead," Lin Kuang said, tilting his head to the side. "Don’t worry about how much you take. Help yourself."

"Then... here I come," Britney said, her pink tongue darting out to lick her lips, as if Lin Kuang were the most sumptuous feast she had ever seen.

"Go on," Lin Kuang affirmed.
