Chapter 630: The Company’s Future Scriptwriters
Chapter 630: The Company’s Future Scriptwriters
After returning home, Ichin put the groceries into the fridge, took out the ingredients needed for dinner, and began cooking.
Utaha and Eriri had already come downstairs to the living room, lounging on the sofa while petting the cat and watching TV. After putting things away, Yukino first went upstairs to check on her sister.
Opening the door, Yukino said, "Sis, we're back. How are you feeling?"
"I'm okay," Haruno replied, stretching lazily. "Much better than earlier. I'll rest one more day tomorrow, and I should be fine to go to work on Monday. Come on, let's go downstairs. I've been stuck in the bedroom all afternoon."
Leaving the room, Haruno and Yukino went downstairs together.
Haruno had known in the morning that Eriri had come over, but she didn't expect her to still be here now.
"Eriri, are you staying for dinner tonight?"
Eriri turned around and nodded with a smile. "Yep, I'm mooching dinner again tonight!"
Haruno sat down on the sofa and teased the cat George in Eriri's arms before asking, "You keep coming here to eat. Doesn't Aunt Sayuri say anything?"
"Hehe, I'm just giving my parents some space for their own time together!"
Eriri raised her chin proudly, making Utaha and the others laugh.
Ichin wasn't in a rush yet and was still preparing the ingredients, so Yukino took the opportunity to tell everyone about what had happened at the supermarket.
After hearing it, Utaha said in surprise, "Oh? You ran into Miyamura and his girlfriend? That's pretty lucky. How does she look compared to the photo?"
Yukino nodded. "She's very pretty. Just like I said before, she's a bit thin. And according to her, she handles most of the housework at home, cooking and cleaning, while still maintaining excellent grades."
Eriri looked surprised. "A junior from Toyogasaki? That's pretty interesting. I should go check out that cake shop sometime. After eating here, I have to admit it's really good."
But hearing that even their juniors were already paired up made Eriri feel a bit sour inside, a hint of envy creeping in.
Sigh… when will it be my turn, Eriri wondered.
However, she quickly pushed the thought aside when her phone buzzed with messages from Umiko and Nene, asking if she wanted to team up for Apex tonight.
Eriri immediately agreed, saying she'd log in after dinner.
There was no helping it, getting sniped by Ichin's viewers had slowed her rank progression a lot. She still wanted to earn more seasonal rewards, so teaming up with others was necessary, and Umiko and Nene were among the best choices.
After confirming her plans for the evening, Eriri walked into the kitchen with her phone.
"Ichin, I'm not queueing with you tonight. I'm teaming up with Umiko and Nene!"
"Oh? Is that so?" Ichin said while chopping vegetables, turning to look at her. "That's fine. You'll rank up faster that way. I can also play some other games during my stream tonight."
He had been thinking about doing some PvP in Dark Souls with viewers. It was way more exciting than Apex, and he wouldn't get constantly sniped. Just pure 1v1 battles.
Now that Eriri wasn't planning to queue with him tonight, Ichin felt much more relaxed. He told her to go call Yukino in to help with dinner preparation.
On Monday, when Ichin arrived at college, Utaha introduced him to two students from her department who had strong writing skills.
That afternoon, they sat together at a café outside the college, had a discussion, and reviewed scripts the two had written for the college's drama club. It was clear they had solid ability.
Without hesitation, Ichin extended an invitation for them to join his company as scriptwriters.
Although they weren't yet capable of independently handling full projects, they could start gradually, working on side quests and less critical parts of game narratives to familiarize themselves with game writing.
After about half a year to a year, they should be ready.
The two girls were delighted by Ichin's offer and accepted without hesitation. After all, Ichin was well-known at the college. In just a few years, he had grown from a small studio to a well-known game developer in the industry, even owning an independent office building now.
For literature students like them, being able to work at such a company was an ideal opportunity.
Having found two promising future writers, Ichin was in a great mood. After returning to the company, he told Hazuki about it.
Hearing that suitable candidates had been found, Hazuki was also very pleased. "That's great news. As long as we train them well, we'll have much more manpower for writing in the future, and you'll be able to focus more freely."
"Yeah, but we'll need to train them step by step at the beginning. No need to rush. We'll just follow our original plan."
"So when will these two new writers report in?"
Ichin smiled. "Tomorrow. After their morning class, they'll come to the company together. You'll get to meet them then."
After Hazuki left to inform everyone, Utaha looked at Ichin with a smile. "Ichin, I deserve some credit for this, right? Have you thought about how you're going to reward me?"
"A reward? Sure."
Ichin pulled Utaha into his arms and looked at her. "What do you want? Just say it."
Wrapping her arms around his waist, Utaha narrowed her eyes and thought for a moment. "Hmm… come shopping with us tonight!"
"Sure, let's go shopping," Ichin agreed immediately. "But if we're going out, should we just have dinner outside? I wonder if Haruno will want to come."
"I'll call and ask."
Utaha immediately took out her phone and dialed Haruno.
As soon as Haruno heard about going shopping tonight, she agreed right away. She was already feeling much better, so going to work was no problem, let alone shopping.
After talking to Haruno, Utaha sent a message to Yukino, who was still at college.
Although Yukino didn't have classes that afternoon, she had chosen to continue studying in the library. Since she had driven to college herself, there was no need for Ichin to pick her up later.
Receiving the message in the library, Yukino replied with a simple "OK," confirmed the meeting time with Utaha, and then went back to reading.
With everything arranged with Haruno and Yukino, Utaha told Ichin to get back to work, while she sat on the sofa, scrolling through her phone to look for a restaurant for dinner.
