Chapter 11, Song 1: "Lakeside"
Chapter 11, Song 1: "Lakeside"
There's a piano!
"So what?" Huang Yiliang wiped the lipstick off his face.
Damn it, these lipsticks are so hard to apply, I don't know what they added to them to keep the color vibrant and saturated.
Huang Yiliang tried to clean it several times but couldn't get it clean, so he just left it as is.
"Of course you should play it!" Zhou Mengdie urged Huang Yiliang as usual. "Think about it, there's a piano in front of the main character out of nowhere—isn't it just for you to show off?"
"Get lost. You need an audience to show off. Can't you see it's just the two of us, one human and one ghost, here?" Huang Yiliang said irritably.
"That's perfect, no one will know if I play badly."
Zhou Mengdie knew Huang Yiliang; she knew he was pretty good at guitar, and as for the piano, since he couldn't show off, you could say he played "Two Tigers" very well.
"Do you want to play?" Huang Yiliang asked.
"Yes!" Zhou Mengdie answered honestly.
"Don't show up in front of me for a week, but be available whenever I need you." Huang Yiliang took the opportunity to make his demands.
"Okay—!" Zhou Mengdie gritted her teeth and agreed.
"No problem then!" Huang Yiliang took out a few Snickers bars from his pocket and opened them.
Unlike Huang Yiliang's original configuration, Zhou Mengdie's use of the body is extremely energy-consuming, and can make a person so hungry that they experience stomach cramps in no time.
"Help me loosen up my fingers," Zhou Mengdie reminded her.
"Don't show off! Those are my fingers," Huang Yiliang quickly reminded him.
He felt that Zhou Mengdie, that unlucky girl, knew a lot of things; it seemed like she knew a little about everything.
If the other person hadn't been so unlucky, he would have even suspected that the girl had some kind of system.
"Don't worry! I've been using this body for a month or two, have I ever bumped or knocked it over?" Zhou Mengdie said confidently.
Huang Yiliang thought about it and realized it made sense. After sitting down on the piano bench, he slowly let his thoughts drift back to the depths of his mind and handed over control of his body to Zhou Mengdie.
Zhou Mengdie suddenly smiled as she spread her hands. Luckily, no one saw it; that gesture was just too damn effeminate.
"Will you play by the Lake Baikal River?" Zhou Mengdie asked.
Huang Yiliang before he turned eighteen definitely wouldn't have been able to do it, since this is a song from after 2010, but he might not be able to now that he's been reborn.
"I know a little, but don't expect me to play very well," Huang Yiliang replied immediately.
"By the Lake Baikal" is a song with lyrics and music by Li Jian.
However, the piano piece by Lake Baikal, after being adapted by several online talents, actually has a more subtle and elegant Eastern aesthetic.
Let's work together!
After testing the piano's tone and pitch, Zhou Mengdie immediately began to play.
Is that how you greet someone, you idiot?
It's clear that the little girl has a very solid foundation in piano; Huang Yiliang was completely absorbed in the music as soon as the prelude began.
The piece "By the Lake Baikal" is particularly narrative; as soon as Zhou Mengdie begins the prelude, a vast and boundless lake slowly appears.
Holy crap! That's awesome!
Zhou Mengdie had a very precise grasp of the touch on the piano keys, which may have been due to the immense mental support Huang Yiliang provided her.
The little girl lightly touched the piano keys with her left hand, and the gentle notes were like a spring breeze. Her right hand, in coordination with the accented notes that were touched and then withdrawn, was like ripples spreading across the surface of a lake. Her grasp of rhythm was absolutely perfect.
Clearly, she has her own interpretation of this piece, one that even the original composer might not be able to surpass.
"Help me step on the pedal," Zhou Mengdie suddenly said.
Huang Yiliang instinctively wanted to refuse, but he wasn't familiar with Zhou Mengdie and it might disrupt the flow of the performance.
However, this guy is the type who says one thing but does another. Zhou Mengdie played so well that he unconsciously joined in, and the two of them cooperated surprisingly well without affecting the smoothness of the piece at all.
The music ended.
Huang Yiliang looked up and saw a circle of beautiful women surrounding him in the performance hall.
"Well--!"
"I see the piano is left here unattended. I wonder if they're going to charge us for it?" Huang Yiliang said with a worried expression.
"..."
Lin Xiaotong glared at Huang Yiliang fiercely.
She found it hard to believe that this frivolous guy with lipstick marks all over his face could play such a clean and peaceful tune.
Well! She has a good eye for people.
Huang Yiliang isn't that kind of person. This guy is more suited to singing, "My sister sits at the bow of the boat, I rock at the stern, loving each other, let's ride the waves together."
After a round of enthusiastic applause.
A pretty young woman asked with sparkling eyes, "You play so well! What piece is this? I've never heard it before!"
"Well--!"
"Remember to mention my name!" Zhou Mengdie immediately said.
"Zhou Mengdie, you son of a bitch, have you forgotten what you promised me? You should be in hibernation now."
"You didn't say when it would start."
"Starting today, now, immediately, right away."
Zhou Mengdie remained silent.
"This is a piece of music written by a friend of mine," Huang Yiliang explained.
He saw several young girls playing MP3 players, probably recording the piano piece Zhou Mengdie had just played.
"Young man, what's the name of this piece of music?" someone asked.
"The lakeside!" Huang Yiliang replied immediately.
He had no interest in promoting foreign tourist attractions; he was already being kind by not naming it Qinghai Lake.
"Hurry up, hurry up, line up. You guys are up way too late. Hurry up and check your names to get your goods."
Huang Yiliang changed the subject.
"What do you know? Today is Saturday, we call this 'getting our beauty sleep'."
"Exactly! We haven't even called you yet, you annoying person, and you're already calling and bothering us before 10 o'clock."
Several feisty women immediately retaliated against Huang Yiliang.
Damn it, a good man doesn't fight with a woman, and besides, he can't win anyway. Huang Yiliang humbly lowered his head and shipped the goods.
Lin Xiaotong also came over to help.
"Why are you here again?" Huang Yiliang said in a low voice.
He particularly disliked girls who stole his first kiss and then came back to brag about it.
"I...I need three more, my roommates want them," the girl stammered.
"Eight hundred, hurry up and go." Huang Yiliang stuffed three MP3 players into the little girl's hands.
"Oh! And that too—!" The little girl's face turned bright red.
"Which one?" Huang Yiliang didn't react.
The little girl pouted, and he finally understood in a panic.
bad,
Huang Yiliang noticed that a group of older women around him were looking at him gossipy. Oh no, he couldn't let these fierce female warriors know that he had tricked a young girl into kissing him.
At that point, they might be carried out of the Beijing Dance Academy horizontally.
"I'll owe you next time."
"Hurry back, don't keep your roommate waiting."
Huang Yiliang noticed that the little girl seemed a bit slow on the uptake. No wonder you got fooled by that old man!
"What's going on?" Lin Xiaotong asked in a very gossipy manner, watching the little girl Shishi's back as she kept turning back to look at her.
"Hey—! The daily troubles of a handsome guy: a girl likes me, but I didn't agree." Huang Yiliang touched his hair with a touch of self-admiration.
"Holy crap—!"
A group of young women collectively vomited all over Huang Yiliang.
