Chapter 62 Elemental Affinity
Chapter 62 Elemental Affinity
The two colossal creatures were a werewolf and a lion-man. The soldiers trembled and huddled together, whispering, "We'll report to Duke Drake tomorrow."
……
"He's already unconscious." Lin Wei looked at the unconscious Moonlight Werewolf and curled his lip. He hadn't even used half his strength, and the thick-skinned Moonlight Werewolf had already passed out.
"But it's already pretty good. After taking so many of my attacks, an ordinary fifth-tier standard knight would probably be a pile of mud by now." Lin Wei patted the dust off his body.
Lin Wei revealed her alluring red face, and a red light appeared in her eyes.
[Target: Lord Moonlight, currently unconscious; success rate of capture: 50%]
"Lord Moonlight, you really know how to name yourself." Lin Wei kicked him.
[Target: Lord Moonlight, in a deep coma; success rate of capture: 65%]
"I can hit it one more time, but the success rate isn't high enough." Lin Wei lifted it up with both hands and threw it to the ground several times, creating small craters in the ground.
[Target: Lord Moonlight, near death, 80% success rate in capturing him]
"That's about it. Help me start the taming process," Lin Wei nodded.
His physical strength was still drained, turning into a red blood droplet that burrowed into the Moonlight Werewolf's forehead.
A moment later, a prompt appeared before Lin Wei's eyes.
[Target Moonlight Lord, successfully captured, current capture position (2/2)]
The Moonlight Werewolf slowly rose, knelt before Lin Wei, and respectfully said, "My lord."
"Moonlight, I'll call you Wright," Lin Wei said after a moment's thought.
"Yes, ma'am. From now on, my name will be Wright."
Name: Wright
[Attitude: Obedience]
[My innermost thoughts: I swear to serve my master, Lin Wei, to the death.]
"Hmm, tell me properly, what's so special about your Moonlight Werewolf race, and why do you say there's hope of advancing to become a Grand Knight?" Lin Wei found a haystack, leaned against it, and asked, "To catch you, I rushed all the way from Maple Leaf City without even having a sip of water. It's only thanks to my many breathing techniques and deep foundation that I've managed to catch you."
Lin Wei deactivated his Iron Lion form, his muscles began to ache slightly, and he rubbed his shoulders.
He thought to himself, "These days, the stronger you are, the better. If I break through too late, I won't be able to avenge Blake. That would be a regret."
"Reporting to my master, my Moonlight Werewolf clan is the pride of the werewolf race, able to evolve by constantly devouring the bloodlines of our own kind. This is quite normal among werewolves," Moonlight Werewolf Murray said respectfully, bowing slightly as his tail swayed gently.
"It's a bit like a breathing technique. My breathing technique can also devour its own kind to achieve evolution." Lin Wei stroked his chin, his eyes lighting up slightly as if he had thought of something. "So the essence of breathing techniques is related to extraordinary creatures. The strong devour the weak, and the weak devour each other to become stronger."
"From now on, you can protect Rose City for me. What's this about wanting to learn wizarding magic?" Lin Wei tilted his head and asked with a curious look, his arms crossed over his chest.
"Reporting to my master, I recently obtained a book on wizard meditation, which includes corresponding spells. I plan to begin practicing it after I advance in my cultivation level," Moonlight Werewolf Murray hurriedly replied, standing ramrod straight.
"Meditation method? You have this opportunity? Quickly, bring it to me!" Lin Wei's eyes widened like saucers, and he excitedly slapped his thigh. "But can you even understand how to practice it? You're just a werewolf..."
"Our ancestors said that we Moonlight Werewolves can cultivate magic, as long as we reach the sixth rank, which is the level of a human Grand Knight." Moonlight Werewolf Murray drooped his head, looking aggrieved, with his ears also drooping to the sides.
"Stop talking nonsense and give it to me now." Lin Wei waved his hand impatiently.
The Moonlight Werewolf, Murray, trotted back into the city. As pedestrians came and went through the streets, he weaved through them, attracting many stares. He retrieved a meditation manual from his dwelling; it was a parchment scroll, still lightly dusty.
"Soil and rock meditation?"
Lin Wei stared at the meditation device covered in sand, his brow furrowed, utterly bewildered. A gentle breeze blew by, ruffling a few strands of hair from his forehead.
"Our ancestors said that we Moonlight Werewolves have a natural affinity for earth elements, so we are perfectly suited to practice this Earth Meditation Method. Master, do you know what element you are affinities with?" Moonlight Werewolf Murray asked, blinking his eyes.
"I...I don't know." Lin Wei scratched his head, not daring to repair it recklessly. This was a wizard's thing; what if he accidentally cultivated it and his brain exploded? A hint of worry appeared in his eyes.
Meditation is a method for cultivating mental strength; it's not something to be practiced casually.
"No, I need to find someone familiar with the wizarding world to ask first. I can't just use this meditation method recklessly." Lin Wei's steady spirit came into play again. He stroked his chin thoughtfully. "And I need to know what my elemental affinity is."
After brainstorming for a while, Lin Wei grinned and said, "Kardashian is right. I'll focus on improving my knightly skills first, and then gradually learn about the wizarding arts. It's best to be safe than sorry."
"Now that we have the breathing technique, we're not far from becoming a wizard."
Lin Wei put the Rock and Soil Meditation Technique into his pocket and returned to the small castle with his new subordinate, the Moonlight Werewolf Lym. Outside the castle, the trees were lush and green, and occasionally a few birds flew by.
After resting for a while, everyone waited anxiously for Lin Wei's return in the hall, pacing back and forth.
"Lord Lin Wei, you're back?"
As the two slowly walked into the hall, Ham was the first to notice them, his eyes lit up, and he quickly went to greet them.
"Haha, you're back. This guy will be your colleague from now on. Now feel free to vent any grievances you have."
He turned and pointed to Moonlight Werewolf Lyme, who knew the mistake he had made and stood obediently to the side, his head bowed so low it almost touched the ground.
Ham and his friends glared at him like he was an enemy, their eyes blazing with fury. They grabbed their weapons and attacked Moonlight Werewolf Lyme. Ham swung his fists, while the others wielded sticks and brooms. Moonlight Werewolf Lyme dodged and weaved, but he still took a few hits, wincing in pain.
After venting his anger, Lyme stood there unharmed, looking apologetic and somewhat disheveled.
"Gentlemen, if you're still not satisfied, give me a few more blows."
Lin Wei had already gone to rest. He stretched and yawned, needing a bit more time.
"As expected of Lord Lin Wei, even this unruly werewolf has become docile."
Everyone sighed in admiration, their faces showing respect.
……
A few days later, Lin Wei returned to Maple Leaf City, which was bustling with activity. As for his subordinates in Rose City, he was told to focus on steady development.
He believed that with the addition of Moonlight Werewolf Lyme, Rose City's strength was now far greater than before. He also gave Lyme instructions that when he wasn't busy, he could go to other cities to devour werewolves and evolve into a Great Knight as soon as possible.
