Chapter 18 Fitness and Dinner
Chapter 18 Fitness and Dinner
Xie Mingmu was thoroughly enjoying the barbecue at the gathering, but Park Jiyeon was having a terrible time.
Right now, she's burning calories on the treadmill. Last night, Xie Mingmu's feeding made Park Jiyeon accidentally eat a little bit more barbecue, and that little bit of barbecue made her gain a lot of weight.
This left Park Jiyeon feeling somewhat helpless. For an idol, being too fat would make them less photogenic, and it was all Xie Mingmu's fault, no matter how you looked at it.
So while Park Jiyeon was sweating profusely on the treadmill, she muttered complaints about Xie Mingmu, but when she recalled the taste of the barbecue last night, she couldn't bring herself to complain.
"What am I doing? Am I too tired? I'm starting to feel dazed." Park Jiyeon was a little conflicted. She had only ever regarded Xie Mingmu as a younger brother. She was the youngest in her family and also the youngest in the group, so she especially wanted to experience what it was like to be an elder.
Ever since she met Xie Mingmu, a person she could talk to, she had treated him like a younger brother. She never expected that things would feel so unreal now. The scene of Xie Mingmu feeding her barbecue yesterday reminded her of her happiest time, which was probably 12 years ago when she was the most unruly member of the group. Every time she returned to the dorm, her older sisters would tease her, and when they saw that she was about to get angry, they would feed her to calm her down.
But since then, the group has never had such a relaxed atmosphere again. Every day she sees online abuse and her resources are cut off. Even when she goes out, she has to endure other people's disdain. All of this gradually made her become more sensitive from the great god she was at the beginning.
So when Xie Mingmu fed Park Jiyeon, she was very happy. That's why, after he stopped, Park Jiyeon threatened Xie Mingmu with her eyes to continue feeding her, because that would make her feel like she was back to how she was before.
When Park Jiyeon woke up the next day, she was still smiling. Then she realized that she was a little embarrassed. How could she have acted like a child last night, throwing a tantrum and forcing him to feed her when he stopped?
Recalling the scene from last night, her face flushed, so she left without saying goodbye to avoid embarrassment.
Park Ji-yeon's initial impression of Xie Mingmu was: aloof, quiet, and handsome; but after getting to know him better, she realized that he was a slow-to-warm-up person, with a sharp tongue but a soft heart. If you asked him to do something he didn't like, he would do it if you bothered him a little, even if he still said he didn't want to. He also liked to tease his friends, and most importantly, he was getting more and more handsome, on par with Takuya Kimura.
If that's the case, dating him wouldn't be a bad idea, Park Jiyeon thought, and laughed out loud.
"What am I thinking? Park Jiyeon, are you too tired?" Park Jiyeon shook her head, shaking off this inexplicable thought, and continued running.
"Ji-yeon~~"
Just then, a woman's surprised voice reached Park Jiyeon's ears. Turning around, Park Jiyeon smiled broadly and said, "IU!"
IU was wearing rather tight-fitting workout clothes. If Xie Mingmu were to comment, he would only say there wasn't much to see. He hadn't expected Park Jiyeon, who usually prefers staying at home, to be at the gym: "Why are you here today? I rarely see you at the gym."
"Don't say that," Park Jiyeon said helplessly. "I only ate a little bit of barbecue yesterday, but I didn't expect to gain so much weight."
"No way," IU, being her best friend, knew that she was the kind of person who could eat anything and not gain weight. She easily guessed that her good friend had eaten at least a lot of barbecue last night, so she responded in a strange tone, "Oh~~~~ Ah~ La~ So."
"Ugh!" Park Jiyeon noticed IU's strange tone and was a little angry, the kind of anger that comes from having a lie exposed.
"Okay, but why didn't you reply to my messages yesterday?" IU knew when to stop. Seeing Park Jiyeon's slightly deflated expression, she was already satisfied. If she continued, Park Jiyeon would start acting cute. Of course, IU could accept being cute, but Park Jiyeon's cuteness would hurt, so IU said she understood.
Is that true?
"You don't even look at your phone." IU was already immune to this and stopped arguing. Instead, she looked at me with envy: "I'm so envious of your body type that can eat whatever you want without gaining weight."
IU's eyes couldn't hide her thoughts at all, because she is the type of person who is prone to gaining weight, but she also has a big appetite and orders a lot of high-calorie food every day, so she has to go to the gym every day to burn off the calories.
Speaking of calories, what are TWICE members doing? Are they at the gym? Of course not, they have such busy schedules that they don't have time to go to the gym, let alone need it to burn extra calories.
They had already laid out the takeout on the floor. Their dormitory was very shabby, with no dining table, and even their room was cramped, with several people sleeping together.
The takeout order was a classic one: noodles with soybean paste, sweet and sour pork, and Momo's pig's feet. It's a pity that she's still in the hospital. This was Tzuyu's suggestion, so that it would feel like Momo was with them.
Dinner time was a rare break for them, and also a time for gossiping. The eight of them started chatting, and it has to be said that Sana's language skills were really good; she could already incorporate some Korean slang into the conversation. In contrast, one of the dark-skinned girls was still in a state of mixed understanding.
Kim Dahyun, who is only lively on variety shows, is very quiet in private and usually listens to her unnies. But now she changed her usual behavior: "Daebak, yo-ra-mon, you have no idea what happened during the photoshoot just now."
The others were filming elsewhere at the time and are unaware of this incident. Only Chou Tzu-yu and Kim Da-hyun, who were present at the scene, know about it.
Even the usually lively and energetic Lim Nayeon stopped, waiting for her usually quiet younger sister to speak. Just as Kim Dahyun was about to speak, Chou Tzuyu spoke first:
"The photographer reacted so quickly back then, it's like he has eyes in the back of his head, he caught the baseball that Dahyun unnie accidentally dropped." Kim Dahyun stared blankly at Chou Tzuyu with her mouth agape, and all she got in return was Chou Tzuyu's innocent smile.
"Jingjia!" As the number one cheerleader, Lim Nayeon, unaware of how dangerous the situation was or how difficult it was to accomplish, simply echoed without thinking.
"Who is this person?" Sana asked casually after taking a bite of sweet and sour pork.
Tzuyu answered again, and at this moment her Korean level seemed to have skyrocketed: "It's the person who took Momo unnie to the hospital yesterday. He's the new cameraman filming our new variety show."
Chou Tzu-yu glanced playfully at Kim Da-hyun, who was frozen in place again, and winked at her. It was so much fun teasing this seemingly soft-hearted unnie!
