Chapter 119 Black Dog and the Ominous
Chapter 119 Black Dog and the Ominous
"In some ways, Harry, you do have a mortal enemy," Hermione added casually.
"That's right, almost everyone in the wizarding world knows the story of Harry and the Wizard of Oz."
Trelawney saw the bottom of Harry's cup and snatched it away.
"Big head stick... Oh, an attack. My Merlin, this cup is terrifying..."
Ron scratched his head awkwardly, "I thought this was just a compliment..."
Trelawney seemed to have entered a state of trance, "Skull...child, you are dangerous! Darling..."
Everyone stared blankly at Trelawney, who tilted her cup again, gasped, and screamed.
"My dear child—no! Don't ask me!"
Landric rubbed his ear, frowned, took a step back, and looked at Trelawney with a mocking expression.
Trelawney was completely mesmerized and couldn't see Landric's expression.
"What is it, Professor?" Dean Thomas asked immediately.
In the midst of a monotonous life, people always crave some spice, so they won't hesitate to use their words.
Everyone stood up and slowly moved closer to Harry, forming a circle around Harry and Ron.
"Darling," Trelawney's eyes widened suddenly, "Ominous! Ominous!"
Harry was completely bewildered, and Trelawney's cryptic behavior was truly vexing him.
He could also tell that he wasn't the only one who couldn't understand.
"Ominous! Darling, something ominous is about you!"
Harry's apparent incomprehension seemed to irritate Trelawney. "There's a big dog! That's a bad omen!"
Harry's heart clenched, and he instinctively reached out to look at Landric.
Hermione, standing nearby, gave Harry a sharp tug, stopping his instinctive movement.
Images flashed through Harry's mind.
Is it "The Omen of Death" from Flourish and Blotts? Or is it that stray dog on Crescent Street?
Hermione looked at the erratic Trelawney and went behind her.
"I don't think this is ominous, Professor Trelawney. Forgive my bluntness, but your current state seems rather unconvincing. Besides—in Eastern countries, black dogs are considered creatures that can ward off evil spirits."
Trelawney's dislike for Hermione intensified as she watched her talkative self.
"My dear, you must understand, we live in the magical world. Sometimes, the knowledge a professor has is indeed far superior to the random, haphazard books you might be reading somewhere, isn't it?"
She tried to use her professorship to pressure Hermione.
Landric looked coldly at Trelawney. "Professor, in my opinion, Hermione seems far more credible than you."
As soon as he said this, various voices of agreement immediately filled the classroom.
Trelawney's face regained some color.
Seamus Finnigan chimed in, tilting his head to one side and then to the other, "Professor, why does this shape look like a dog and a donkey at the same time?"
Everyone burst into laughter.
Trelawney's face turned completely red.
Draco quietly tugged at Landric's sleeve, "Brother, why do I feel like this kid's acting all mysterious?"
Landric, hearing what seemed like a whisper but could actually be heard by many, adopted a strategy of passive-aggressive behavior towards Draco.
Ignore him.
"When are you finally going to decide whether I'll die or not?"
Harry suddenly interrupted.
Unfortunately, no one could answer the question, and Trelawney kept packing her things.
"I think that concludes our lesson for today. Yes... please pack up your belongings..."
Everyone silently handed Trelawney their teacups and packed their bags.
Ron followed the crowd out of the classroom, not daring to look Harry in the eye again.
There were only a few people left in the classroom. Landric silently led Draco down the spiral staircase, seemingly oblivious to Harry's slightly pleading gaze.
Hermione gave Harry a hard pinch. "Hey, don't forget what we agreed on earlier."
Harry left the classroom absentmindedly, heading to the next class.
It took a long time to find Professor McGonagall's classroom, but we arrived just in time.
He originally intended to go straight to the back of the classroom and choose an inconspicuous spot.
Looking back, Landric was sitting there.
Harry: ...Never mind, let's try another one.
With this person there, even an inconspicuous seat becomes conspicuous.
Landric watched as the curly-haired boy walked dejectedly to the front of the classroom—all the other seats were already taken—and chuckled.
Draco said wistfully, "Brother~"
Landric shuddered, "What?"
"My brother hasn't smiled at me like that in a long time."
Landric pinched Draco's waist hard under the table.
Draco shuddered and wisely shut his mouth.
Not long after, "my brother hadn't smiled at me like that in a long time."
Landric: ?
Then he saw Draco's flushed cheeks and Landric thought to himself: This looks like things are going to get bad.
This guy seems to be getting excited?
He quickly withdrew his hand, put it in his robe, and resolutely refused to let Draco see it a second time.
Unfortunately, Draco was determined to harass his brother. His eyes darted around, and his mouth opened wide. "Brother, I remember you really like reading about Taoism, right? You know the Tao begets one, one begets two, two begets three, three begets all things, right?"
Landric: "What do you want to do?"
Landric sensed something was wrong as soon as the child started speaking Chinese.
"The Tao gives birth to One, gives birth to Two, gives birth to Three, gives birth to all things."
Landric suddenly had a headache.
"There are also those who follow the laws of the earth, the earth, the heavens, the Tao, and nature."
"Shut up! You're not allowed to speak to me in Chinese right now!"
Draco wouldn't listen, saying, "Man follows the earth, earth follows heaven, heaven follows the way, and nature follows the way."
As Draco wished, Landric exerted force in his hand.
"hiss--"
Draco's face was rosy, as if he had developed some unknown quirk.
Landric looked utterly dejected. Who taught him this?
