Chapter 400 The Bridge Between Worlds
Chapter 400 The Bridge Between Worlds
People were skeptical of trusting an outsider but since their leaders accepted Kiro fast due to not wanting to die from Kaos they warmed up pretty quickly.
"I take you're the former Prince?" Kiro tried gauging his mental state.
"I guess you could say that. I have to say, I'm really glad." He looked genuinely relieved.
Kiro gave him a strange look, how could someone act like this when their own father died mysteriously.
"He wasn't my father, he was crazy too. I'm glad those things betrayed him before he could betray us."
Kiro shrugged and asked him to line with the rest of his people. He didn't sense that the kid was lying so there was no point killing him.
There were hundreds of them on a plain field, instructed to sit cross legged. It was a mix of old and young, Kiro didn't have the luxury of choosing—to begin with this world didn't have much of a population.
"Before we start, I'll be honest with you. Kaos is a very dangerous energy, if your will is weak you will go insane and die. But I don't see what other choice you have, you will die either way."
There was no time to coddle them. There were murmurs but that was all, nobody got up and gave up. They understood the situation and Kiro was glad of it.
He activated his clone skill and there were three of him, that's when people jumped to their feet and screamed. Continue reading stories on empire
"Don't be alarmed, this is just a skill. I want to do thus faster, sit back down."
They obeyed, albeit scared.
Using blink and the clones the work was cut out for him. He simply needed to touch the bare skin of the, the energy already at his finger tips. Kiro only needed to give them a taste of what the energy feels like and if they were smart enough they would be able to grab it from the world around them.
He was pleasantly surprised with the duplicates he could make. Because of his pathways expanding exponentially, he could make about a hundred of them. This is also why people freaked out when it happened—he had his own little army.
Kiro left a single clone behind and blinked for the light. As he got closer he felt himself getting weaker, Hubris was borrowing from him. He didn't miss that feeling at all.
"You're doing it." He whispered afraid to disturb him.
But Hubris was a hellhound he could hear for thousands of miles. He wasn't distracted, he'd already created the two holes using his gravity powers which spent his energy entirely. Now he taking from Kiro to make sure that they were connected.
They had a small window before the black hole acted up and started sucking up everything. Even though this was his first time, he commanded a calmness Kiro could only dream of.
'He truly is a King.' He complimented.
Kiro couldn't help so he just stood there and allowed Hubris to take chunks of his energy. It wasn't a big deal since he was replenishing much faster, this world was rich in Kaos.
"Master get out of here I think it's going to explode."
"I trust you, just keep working."
He had to feed them just the right amount of mass otherwise he would lose control, it was getting significantly harder to control the measurements.
The trust his master had in him gave him a little push and concentrated even more. After weeks of working Hubris finally connected the two points.
He'd done it, he'd bent spacetime and poke a hole to create a bridge between two worlds. Something he never imagined would ever be possible. Neither of them would have thought it were possible before this otherworldly mission.
Hubris crumbled under his weight. Kiro attempted to use blink to catch him but it didn't work. His energy pool wasn't empty so it was confusing, he could still absorb Kaos in the atmosphere.
Kiro attempted to use whirlwind—nothing. He attempted to turn the rocks on the ground to refined soil—nothing.
"Hubris, what the hell did we do?"
