Chapter 92 Affinity Ranks? (edited)
Chapter 92 Affinity Ranks? (edited)
Lillian walked down the steps, garnering the gazes of those on either end. She stared at those who were down at the fact they couldn't get a higher evaluation and those who were quite proud of what they got.
Because of this, she couldn't help but think about what she might get. She eventually dashed away this thought once she reached the ponytail man.
Mirage stared at her with a calm smile before holding up the sphere towards her.
"Lillian Ker Arius... our number one."
A wry smile stretched across her face once she heard that.
"It was only but luck, sir."
Mirage shrugged.
"Please place your hand onto the Evaluation Sphere and we can begin."
Lillian nodded and did as he said. She placed her hand on the sphere and noticed how smooth it was—not a single noticeable imperfection on its surface.
She poured her mana into the sphere and waited, watching as it glowed faintly. She turned her gaze back to the teacher and asked:
"Do you happen to know what I had before?"
Mirage raised an eyebrow—still smiling.
"Before? From what was written on your profile, your affinity was around 125... so around about an E rank. Hopefully, you trained enough to get it a little higher, hm?"
Lillian remembered the couple of Affinity Pills she had consumed and couldn't help but let out a nervous chuckle.
"Hehe... maybe..."
However, she did hope it was above an E. The "small" amount of training she had done with Marionette back in the Trial must've increased it a bit as well.
She stared anxiously at the sphere, waiting for it to finish and send back a response.
She wasn't too worried about using up her mana since it didn't take that much and in addition, the volume she can store is much greater compared to an Aspirant.
'Well... Aspirant me, at least.'
"That's enough now. You can pull your hand back."
Lillian then perked up at Mirage's words to stop. She pulled back her hand and waited as he seemed to digest what was sent from the Evaluation Sphere.
Soon enough, his eyes were focused on the sphere and then turned towards her.
And then suddenly, his voice resounded quietly inside her mind.
{You have managed to achieve exactly 500. Rank D. Excellent work at achieving an entire rank up.}
Lillian smiled brightly and thought, 'Not bad! That's not bad at all!'
She then wandered back up to her seat with a smile—something that got Millis's attention as she leaned over and whispered excitedly:
"Hey! What did ya get? It seems to be good with that smile on ya face..."
Lillian giggled and whispered back:
"I'll tell you when you get evaluated."
"Excuse me..." Marionette muttered as she shuffled past her and Millis.
Lillian's nose twitched at Marionette's smell. It was nice...
She soon mentally slapped herself at how weird she was getting before watching as Marionette elegantly descended the steps.
Marionette's beauty drew the eyes of almost everyone in the class. Read new chapters at My Virtual Library Empire
Eventually, she stopped before the teacher and placed her hand on the sphere once getting the signal.
Soon after that, she took off her hand and stared into the teacher's eyes as they telepathically communicated with one another.
Shortly after, Marionette shook her head, getting an understanding nod from Mirage before allowing her to go back to her seat.
Lillian watched as Marionette shuffled past again and sat down, after fixing her skirt.
Lillian tilted her head at her, leaning towards her and whispering, "What did you get?"
Marionette glanced at her before whispering back, "... I'll tell you after class."
Lillian nodded and leaned back. She already knew what Marionette had gotten. It was Rank C.
She was just curious about what number she had gotten... Now that she thought about it...
'What number did Millis get?'
She turned to Millis and saw her focused on the teacher.
She then shrugged, 'I can find out later.' currently, she was too busy with being happy about what she had gotten.
Later on, after Mirage had finished evaluating everyone, including Gram, which he somewhat struggled to do, he began to draw on the chalkboard.
Scrape. Scrape. Scrape.
While he was doing this, his voice echoed across the classroom.
"If you're in this class, then I am sure most of you know what each Affinity Rank means. But on the off chance that you don't..." he took a subtle glance towards the savage, tied-up man in the corner before continuing, "Then we shall go over it."
He then stepped away from the chalkboard before walking over to a large white 'E'.
"Those of you who had received an evaluation between 1 and 200, would have gotten Rank E. This basically means... well... the basic control over your element. Nothing fancy."
He then stepped over to 'D'.
"The hard-working few that managed to get a number above 200 are much more capable in shaping and controlling their elements."
Next was 'C'.
"Rank C, however, will allow those to apply their elements onto themselves. I'm sure you guys have seen someone turn their body into literal fire before or something like that. People in this rank have gotten an evaluation above 500."
Mirage then stood before 'B'.
"On the off chance that you guys might get to Rank B, which I'm sure you guys will if you work hard enough..." Mirage's voice trailed off a bit before picking back up.
"Anyway, this one is a strange one. This Rank is all about Branch Meanings. If you don't know what that is, then it just means you guys will be able to create extra meanings to your elements. Confusing I know, but if you research about it, you'll get it soon enough. This level can be achieved once you are above 2000."
And lastly, he stood before an 'A'.
"And finally we have Rank A... not much is known about this since we never get much nowadays due to the wars. But anyway, on this leave, you will be able to summon your Mana Realm into the world. Its size will depend on how high your evaluation is. Which is above 5,000."
