Over the past few days, besides her training, Marionette had also gone through a strange phase of her own.
Lillian watched as the slender arms wrapped around her neck, listening as a familiar deep and seductive voice was whispered into her ear.
"Well done..."
Lillian jolted in surprise, unconsciously trying to break free until being pulled back in again. She breathed a sigh.
"You really gotta stop startling me like that..."
Marionette had grown to lean into the belief that physical contact would improve the bond between the two a lot quicker, as well as whispering into her ear with an oddly breathy tone.
While Lillian wasn't going to admit it openly, she was quite attracted to how seductive Marionette could be, even if she wasn't trying to in a romantic and sexual way.
Facing Marionette, Lillian watched as she tilted her head at her somewhat cutely.
"Do you perhaps not like it when I wrap my arms around your neck from behind? Or has the incident a few days ago caused you to be apprehensive about it?"
"You talking about when you almost choked me to death? I'm fine with it, don't worry." Lillian shook her head dismissively, ignorant at what her words could possibly imply to others.
Fortunately, Marionette wasn't very experienced or knowledgeable about these sorts of things and wasn't able to use it as a weapon to tease her.
"Is that so... well, I am going to keep doing it then..."
Lillian stared up at her before a curious question then popped into her mind before spilling out of her mouth.
"I thought you hated direct hand contact."
Marionette stared at her silently, thinking about how to structure her sentence.
"I don't feel uncomfortable or threatened around you, Lillian," she said in a monotone voice before pulling Lillian in.
The side of Lillian's face was then smushed up about Marionette's plump, soft chest.
'I can't even tell if that's an insult or a compliment...'
Lillian eventually decided it was both and sighed, leaning into Marionette's comfortable chest.
"But you're implying that you want one from me!"
"... So?"
Lillian twisted her entire body around, facing away from the confused Marionette. She held both of her cheeks and felt how hot they had gotten.
Was this woman being serious right now? Wait... does she actually want a kiss from her? That is impossible, right? She knew they'd grown a bit closer over the past few days, but definitely not to this level!
After taking a deep breath, she turned back around and pointed her finger at her scoldingly, "Only talk about this with someone you actually like."
Marionette continued to wear a confused expression.
"Do you perhaps think I don't like you?" she asked with a tilt of her head, shocking Lillian.
"N-no! I meant as in... Like... Like someone. Like you really like them."
Due to Lillian's embarrassment, she accidentally spoke in a way that was definitely how someone would try to teach a child what love is.
Marionette eventually got what Lillian was implying but still wore a confused expression.
"Must being in love with someone a requirement to get a kiss from them?" she asked in a curious tone.
"W-well... in most normal circumstances... yes?" Lillian answered in an unsure tone. How would she know what the deep requirements for a kiss were?
All she knew was that people in love did it all the time. So obviously, to her, being in a romantic relationship with one another is the first requirement before anything like kissing.
Marionette then deliberately moved in, her face leaning down closer to Lillian with a surprising glint of playfulness in her eyes, "And what about the... circumstances that aren't normal?"
"H-huh...?"
Lillian took a small step back, only to be followed by her.
She then suddenly felt Marionette's arm wrap around her waist, pulling her in before feeling Marionette's finger tilting her chin up.
Lillian stared up at Marionette's still face, which moments later leaned into her ear and whispered in a hot and breathy voice.
"And do we perhaps fall into the category of... not normal?"
