Chapter 79 ALCHEMY (1)

Chapter 79 ALCHEMY (1)

No. 80: "I hope we can relax today."

Alan: "You are talking as if you know what type of lecture we will have today."

No. 80: "I said I hope, after yesterday with instructor Lilac, I want to take a week just to heal."

Alan: "Contrary to you, I want to spend more time with her; every minute in her lesson is more valuable than gold."

No. 80: "I didn't notice it before. Tell me the truth, are you a masochist?"

Alan: "If it means that I can learn and get stronger than I am, I am the biggest one in here."

No. 80: "A sexual deviant. My new friend has very weird sexual tendencies."

The two of them walked side by side until they reached the usual gathering point, which is the training room.

Even though they were early, they were surprised to find numbers 9, 17, 18, and 25 already gathered inside.

No. 80: "I thought we would be the first, but aren't you all a little early?"

No. 17: "We can't afford to stay relaxed, something you don't understand, number 80."

Everyone gave Alan a look as if the previous classes proved to them how terrifying the youngest is and how he was capable of easily suppressing them given enough time.

When the rest of the seeds all gathered, waiting for the instructor to come.

The one who walked from outside was a bald middle-aged man, tall, almost 190 cm, with muscle all over his body; every move of his concealed an enormous strength gathered inside his body.

Yet what broke the picture was the white lab coat that he was wearing and the dark bags under his eyes, as if he had not slept at all in a long time.

"Oh, I see everyone's here. I miss the days when I was always feeling full of energy."

Everyone immediately lined up as they greeted the incoming instructor.

Everyone: "Good morning, instructor Mark."

Instruction mark: "Good morning everyone, let's go to the lab."

After greeting everyone, he exited the training room, and everyone followed behind him.

Alan: "Are we going to a lab?"

No. 80: "Thank God that we have an easy lecture today, actually not so easy, but we don't have to get hurt, maybe?"

No. 18: "Number 33, we are going to the lab because instructor Mark is the instructor responsible for teaching us the fundamentals of portion making and poison."

Alan: "Are we even trying to become alchemists?!"

No17: "Not exactly but our job demands that we became something like a jack of all trade, so we have to hold the knowledge about a few potions that is essential in our line of work, And we extensively focus on poison, how to make it and how to fight it, sometimes even how to use it in our missions."

After they walked for almost 5 minutes, they entered a very advanced-looking laboratory.

Ingredients:

[Draconis squama (Dragon Scale Shard): 1 perfectly preserved scale, shed naturally by a mature Azure Dragon.]

[Serpens crystallis (Crystal Serpent Venom): 3 drops, ethically extracted and neutralized.]

[Petra vitae (Living Stone Moss): A handful, harvested from the Sunstone Caves.]

[Sol lacrima (Sunstone Tear): 1 perfectly formed gemstone, imbued with sunlight.]

[Aqua ignis (Fire Spring Water): 250 ml, collected from the volcanic springs of Mount Cinder.]

Alan put the potion back on the table and took a single paper as he wrote down all the information that he felt in his mind.

Nobody observed his actions at all, as everyone, even instructor Mark, was busy with the different processes and experiments trying to identify the origin of the potion.

Instructor Mark: "Okay everyone, almost an hour has passed, so stop and let me see what you have written down. After I gather all your reports, I will read them for everyone to hear, so be prepared to be embarrassed."

No. 80: "Ahhhh, instructor, you always do this to me knowing that I'm the most stupid here."

No. 17: "You are already smart enough to know that you are the idiot in the room."

After instructor Mark collected all the papers, he reached table number 80 and took his paper. At that time Alan decided to give his paper too.

Alan: "Instructor Mark, here is my report too, as I observed the work of my seniors."

Instructor Mark smiled as he appreciated the young man trying to be a part of the process, which was a very positive thing, so he took the paper and put it at the back as the last one.

Instructor Mark: "We will start with you, number 25. Your report says: a potion made from scale species beasts. That effect is the enhancement of an aspect in some beasts. That is very vague but almost accurate.

Sadly, all the ingredients that you mentioned are wrong."

No. 25: "No way! All of them!!"

Instructor Mark: "Yes, all of them. Next is number 17. You identified the potion as a defense enhancement potion used for both cultivators and beasts, which is fully accurate, but you did not provide the name of the potion. Also, all the ingredients that you mentioned are wrong."

Number 17's face darkened as she did not voice a word; dissatisfaction with her results was clear.

Instructor mark: "Number 18, you are the bravest in this class as you tried to provide the name for this potion; sadly for you, it's wrong, and from the ingredient mentioned, only one is correct. We will discuss it later."

No. 18: "Huh, ayahhh."

Alan: "It seems that no one truly likes this class."

No80: "Not all of us completely suck at alchemy; just wait and see."

Instructor Mark: "Next is your turn number nine. How confident are you in your answers?"

No. 9: "60%"

Instructor Mark smiled as number nine was the best student in his class who had a very high aptitude to become an alchemist.

He had already offered her to transfer to his department. Yet was sadly rejected.
