Chapter 191: Sell him
Chapter 191: Sell him
In front of a large complex four figures could be seen flying over at a slow speed.
"Halt!!!"
As they approached, a voice sounded from the wall surrounding the complex. There, a troop of men could be seen with longbows aimed at them.
"Hmm?!!" Seeing this scene Leon immediately frowned, this was inside the bloodserpent clan. How dare these guys point arrows at him and the High Arbiter?
It was then that Leon realised that the arrows weren’t pointing at the high Arbiter. It was just him, Arian and Ember.
"Arian brace yourself, we are going to break through their formation" Leon looked to Arian and said.
It seemed like over the complex was a no fly zone for certain people. But if Leon didn’t have clearance the High Arbiter would definitely not bring him here without telling him.
This might be another test.
"Okay" Arian pulled out her sword and floated infront of Leon.
Based on rank, Arian was still a realm above him, hence she had more output than him in terms of mana.
It would be much easier for her defend herself against these bows and arrows. However, this didn’t mean that Leon would just sit back and watch.....
"BloodSerpent work: Lancehead Naga"
Beside Leon, two massive lances made from life energy formed aiming directly at the wall. His time in the clan wasn’t wasted, he had taken then initiative to learn several level 3 spells while here.
Leon 4 months ago wasn’t him today.
"Shit that’s going too far!!" One the wall one of the men with bows became scared upon seeing Leon’s conjure these lances.
This was an initiation ceremony for all captains in the enforcement Unit. It was meant to let the captains know that they stood above the common men and that they didn’t need to be afraid to punish their lessers.
But what leon just conjured couldn’t be considered a punishment. This dude was trying to kill them.
"Disparse!!!" They didn’t even wait for Arian to reach them. At the sight of the lances they ran for their lives.
The scene looked quite comical, but it was as serious as it could be. Joining up with the High Arbiter, Leon and the rest descended onto the ground of the complex and began walking.
A few minutes later, they entered a massive and magnificent building settled right in the center of the complex.
"Boss"
Immediately after they entered several men appeared before them bowing towards the high Arbiter.
"At ease" with a swipe of his hand, the High Arbiter dismissed them before slowly climbing up a flight of stairs leading to the helm chair of the hall.
"Let’s begin"
His voice echoed throughout the hall making everyone present to bow. That was except a chosen few.
These guys were all youngsters like Leon, and just like Leon, they were all seemingly talented with the lowest rank here being at the middle stage of level 3.
This was astounding!!! There was even a girl here who was at the peak of level 3. This was the qualifying rank of an Arbiter.
But then again.....what could he do? This was between his disciples, all he could do was give them chance to improve to the point where they could fend for themselves.
"I can feel something around you...do you have a serpent companion too?" The girl stead at the side of the hall said to Leon with eyes full of intrigue.
It wasn’t uncommon for memebers of the warlock clans to take in inhuman companions. Especially in the bloodserpent clan. However, when warlocks become stronger they tend to abandon the use of such creatures.
Unless...they were special.
"Oh, yeah in fact I do have a little companion" Leon paused in confusion for a few seconds before understanding what she meant.
(Levi)
Leon called out with his connection to levi and all of a sudden a serpent crawled out from his crimson red amour.
—hisss
Levi hissed at the young lady with malice causing all the serpents around her to hiss back in fury.
Since they couldn’t understand serpent tongue, they didn’t know what levi had said.. but it was clearly disrespectful.
"Hmm? What kind of serpent is that?" However, instead of getting annoyed, the young lady asked Leon a completely unrelated question.
She was a snake lover as could be seen by the sheer amount if snake companions she had on her. Seeing a serpent who’s specie she couldn’t recognise was quite rare.
She wanted to know what specie it was.
"Ahh? What kind? I’m not to sure about that.....I picked this little guy from the streets a while ago" Leon said with while petting levi’s head.
(Bug off!! Who did you pick up from the streets huh Leon? This snake here is bigger than your whole clan)
Levi retorted what leon had just said. Although he wasn’t completely wrong, Leon had truly gotten him from a very unconventional situation.
"Is that so?" The young lady frowned. The energy she could feel from this serpent around Leon’s neck was infinitely close to the power of a level 3 warlock.
This couldn’t be some common serpent right?
"Yeah...." Leon nodded.
Then the young lady slowly stood up and walked towards Leon staring at him face to face.
"Are you willing to sell him to me?" She asked without a sense of shame in her tone.
It was a bit of a taboo to offer to buy ones companion from their hands. It was like asking to sell your brother out, no one would agree to something so absurd.
"How much?" Leon asked with a smile on his face. To this, levi responded by biting Leon on his left hand, showing clear displeasure.
"Hehe, I jest, I can’t sell him. We are too close, plus you definitely can’t afford him" Leon responded.
"Nane your price" with confidence the young lady replied. Leon had no idea how rich she was, he was just mouthing off.
"Immortality, if you can show me the method of attaining true immortality.....I’ll give him to you"
Leon’s response was calm and collected, but what he asked for was absurd.
