Chapter 111: Taking action

Chapter 111: Taking action

"That would make you happy wouldn’t it?" Damien smiled bitterly while looking at the food in front of him.

In as much as he didn’t need the faceless mercenary company, he would protect if for as long as he needed, even sacrifice himself for it. This place....it groomed him from when he was but a street rat of duan city.

"Hehe, as sentimental as always I see!!" The aged individual shook his head then patted Damien On the back.

He knew Damien wouldn’t disband the faceless mercenary company no matter what, that was why he was surprised by the rumors.

The company was his family, he grew up there, ate there fed there and all his memories were there.

"Why don’t you come over to my household? I have thousand year old wine in the cellar" a bright idea appeared in the mind of the aged individual then he suggested for Damien to follow him home.

He could tell that Damien was tensed and needed to relax, and he wanted to help.

"Ahhh, a thousand years old? That’s...." Damien couldn’t refuse.....at least for now he would have fun until whenever Leon needed him to act.

Then things would be much easier.

Not long after, the disappeared. Didn’t even pay the bills.....

3 days later

Inside the faystone stable area.

"Hm? What did you find?" With a calm voice Leon asked in the early morning, this was before the sky even brightened.

They had to prepare the horses for the faystone family guard that were currently on patrol duty, this was apparently how things "worked" in the faystone family

They didn’t even have the courtesy to treat them as guests.

"Strange, there seems to be something happening in the forest....I don’t know if its hunting....or something else, but there’s alot of blood" Arian explained.

There were strange occurrences in the forest, but she didn’t know If it was normal for this place,

However they thought the mansion was big, it was much more than they thought and they were even creatures here, not just one though, alot.

It was a really a sight to see in the middle of a city.

"Hmmm, what’s the young lord up to?" Leon asked. Normally, the young Lord would go about hunting the creatures in the forest for sport. Maybe it was tradition or something, but he would frequently do it in specific intervals.

Leon had them track those intervals with the help of his two level 3 mages.

"Hunting as usual." Beside arian the lady in the white vail responded with some annoyance. She couldn’t help but wonder why Leon was in charge of this Misson. Her master had placed her and Arian under him abiet him being only at level 2.....

That same night

Leon and 3 others left the stable area fully kitted.

On Leon’s commands, the blade Demon had found all the spies in the vicinity and put them to sleep.

They needed free hand to move, and since the young lord was busy. These guys were the only ones in their way.

"Arian with me, blade Demon you’re with her" Leon commanded.

"Hmmm" the blade Demon looked at Leon with uncaring eyes and walked towards the vailed lady. He didn’t particularly like being under Leon. But he had to right now. Though, he vowed to beat Leon right after this to prove his worth.

"Do not enable anyone unless you need to, we are looking for something strange, be it a strange site or a strange person.....he’s detrimental to our mission"

"Also, please do not engage even if you come across this individual.....he’s extremely dangerous, if found just get a hold of me and we will alert the great mage" Leon gave instructions, then not long after they departed the stable heading into the forest on foot.

"Levi" as Leon and Arian made their way through the dense forest that was the faystone household, Leon called out to his little pet.

(Hisss, why the disturbance all of a sudden?)

From within Leon’s amour, a pitch black serpent slithered out and perched itself on Leon head.

"I need you to help me find something.....unique" Leon said.

This little pet of his didn’t do anything other than sleep and eat, but Leon didn’t know much about it so he couldn’t come to any conclusions.

But what he did know was that it had a special ability that set it apart from any other serpent out there.

It ability to sense unique energies from a Mile away.

(Anything special? No not really.....it just there seems to be another warlock in the vicinity.....)

Levi hissed then spoke telepathically into Leon’s eye.

"A warlock?" Leon frowned. Of every part of duan city where warlocks could stay....the centre was the worst. It was kill on sight here, as long as you got caught.

Why would a warlock be here?

(Ehhhh, not really a warlock, I dunno what to say it smell like one though, but it’s faint)

Levi explained.

Deep inside the forest a creature about 7foot tall could be seen walking around having its fill of creatures in the area.

It was pale with a build the likeness of a gaint, it also had a meaty contraption around its back forming a sort of hallow.

"Ahhh, so refreshing....." The creature spoke in human tongue.

"But why do I feel like there’s something wrong? It’s so strange," the creature mused before shrugging it’s shoulder and continuing with its meals
