The sound of horse hooves hitting the ground resounded as Leon’s carriage slowly departed the waterway household. The same way they were escorted out when they were with Bartholomew was the same way they were escorted out now.
"Hehe," Leon smirked, he had just placed Carlson in a position of importance and care. Even though he wasn’t officially a member of the 30 sky mages, the waterway family would place more importance on him for defending their honor when Draven couldn’t.
"Where to now?" Arian asked Leon with the side of her eyes looking at him with complexity. She was off the opinion that they were here just to collect Leon’s magic treasure.
But apparently this was Leon’s planned all along. At least that was what she thought because in actual facts it just happened randomly. And Leon seized the opportunity.
"Let’s go back to the west, I would like to see brother Darknorth" Leon smiled and commanded. And not long after they departed heading straight for the West.
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
In a small enclosed restaurant.
"This is looking more and more like a bad idea, it’s drawing too much attention, if the royalty finds out that we knew about the sorcerer and kept it to ourselves it would bring trouble"
As time went on, and the attempts of the higher ups of the faceless mercenary company to capture the Sorcerer failed. They began to share the same sentiment as half moon.
They were afraid of the Sorcerer, but not as much as they were afraid of the duan royal family.
"Shut up and let me think" Damian Harrumphed. The Sorcerer was weak, and on several occasions when they found him he would force himself into level 4 and run away.
He firmly believed they could capture him, but the Sorcerer was proving too slippery with his abilities to change faces. They needed a way to track him, but how?
Meanwhile, a carriage slowly approached a lonely road in the west of duan city.
Normally, this road was usually bustling, but recently, there had been a spree of fights around the area that lead to the faceless mercenary company closing down the road.
"What’s going on here?" With a frown behind his faceless mask, Leon questioned. This was the street where he took his faceless mercenary company exam, and it was typically very crowded.
Leon couldn’t wrap his head around what had happened.
"Halt!! Identify yourself!!" As Leon moved deeper into the street, a few faceless mercenaries in tightly fitted uniforms emerged from the corners and backstreets of the buildings and stopped his carriage.
"Hm?" Leon noticed this and frowned before slowly stepping out from within the carriage, with Arian following right behind him.
"What’s wrong?" As soon as Leon stepped out, he inquired.
"Brother badur?" A few of the men quickly recognized Leon’s white hair and snake around his neck.
After a bit of grumbling, the old men and women stood up and existed the restaurant. They wanted this to be over as soon as possible so they wouldn’t have to look at each other’s face as much.
"We are alone, you can speak" with squinted eyebrows Damien spoke.
The sorcerer targeted all those who had broken through to level two in the pool, for some reason. He didn’t understand why, but Leon might.
"You want the sorcerer in your hands? You want it to be Silent and quick so as not to draw too much attention? I can help you do all that. But you have to do me a favor" Leon folded his hand in front of him and said calmly but with much confidence.
These words struck a cord in the great mages’ heart, causing his heart beat uncontrollably.
"Have a seat then" Damien offered. He knew this was Leon and not the sorcerer trying to play some trick, so hearing these words was actually very shocking.
What did Leon know that he didn’t?
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
"They’ve been in there for too long, we don’t have much time"
Outside the restaurant, a level 3 mage complained. They had reached a conclusion to do a full swipe of duan city this night, even at the risk of drawing attention.
The people here consisted of all the level 3 mages in the faceless mercenary company. They came out in their full force from all over the city to answer the call of the great Mage.
A threat like this couldn’t be ignored, but this kind of gather raised a lot of eyebrows, hence the need to close down the area.
"Just wait, when the great mage is done we will begin" a lady with a white veil over her body spoke.
She was formerly the youngest level 3 mage in the faceless mercenary company until Arian came. But she was also the great mages disciple.
She would defend him no matter what.
"Hmmmm, easy for you to say...." a lot of people didn’t like her, but she didn’t really care.
"They are coming out" while they bickered, a voice sounded, pointing to the restaurant door.
It was the great mage alone. Leon didn’t come out with him.
"Hear me!!" The great mages voice resounded, shuddering the hearts of those here.
"You are to disperse back to your home fields. Do not engage anyone during this time period, for the time being the faceless mercenary company will take no Mission!!" His voice was filled with grandeur and grace, but his words were like a knife through butter.
Was he trying to disband the faceless mercenary company? What was this? Take no missions? That was too much....how were they to survive?
"That is all, you may all leave" Damien didn’t pay them any heed. He knew what they didn’t, and what he and Leon were about to do was too dangerous for them to be active while it was happening.
They were about to f*ck with the duan royal family’s baby.
