Malevolent Warlock: Sin Of Eternity

Chapter 88: Level 2 Warlock

Chapter 88: Level 2 Warlock

(This should be enough)

Leon thought to himself as he tightly knotted a wraithfin fish he had caught with a rope. He didn’t kill it. After a long battle, he found out that he didn’t need to....because Levi had paralyzing venom.

Leon was genuinely shocked that he didn’t notice this. He could remember his fight with ghost face and how easy it was, the guy barely put up any resistance. This was because of the effects of the paralyzing venom.

(Going back)@@@@

Leon pulled on the rope and swum towards the Reef. By now it had been 2 days in here and Leon was able to capture about 10 wraithfin fish. Whenever he did, he would bring them over to the Reef and tie them up at a secluded corner he had found.

"Huuuu" Leon took in a large breath of air. He had just surfaced into an underwater cave right above where he tied the wraithfin fishes.

"10 is good, I will try again" Leon said to himself.

The prerequisite for breaking through into level 2 for warlock wasn’t just the accumulation of life-energy. He also needed to comprehend the essence of his bloodline.

The blood serpent bloodline.

He didn’t understand exact what it meant, but he understood how it felt from his constant ’encounters’ with other level 2 Warlocks.

"Come!! " Leon muttered before pulling one of the robes tied to the wraithfin fishes outside. Without any resistance, the fist floated towards the underwater cave and appeared directly before him.

"BloodSerpent work: life devourer" Leon muttered, and white smoke began emitting from within the wraithfin fish and into Leon’s body.

He was already at the peak of level 1, what he needed was enough life-energy to push him to level 2, but he also needed to comprehend the essence of his bloodline while simultaneously filling himself with life-energy.

"What does it mean to be a serpent?"

"Is it cruelty?"

Serpents were one of the most cruel creatures to exist, a creature that not only enjoyed inflicting harm to others, but also to themselves.....slowly

Leon began imagining himself as a serpent doing the most cruel things he could think of. Biting a pregnant lady for looking at him wrong, swallowing your own eggs for nutrients, squeezing a defenseless creature to a slow and agonizing death.

But was this cruelty? No, his was just the nature of serpent kind.

"Sneaky and slithering"

Leon thought of another attribute, the serpent was one of nature’s most dangerous poison wielding assassins. Slithering through grasses undetected and stalking prey. Leon could imagine going undetected throughout the world and striking when people least expected it.

"This is also nature"

Leon said to himself, cruelty, sneakiness? These were all part of the nature of serpents. Their nature came from their core essence, what he needed was to know their core essence.

"Again" Leon pulled on the rope in front of him and pulled up another wraithfin fish. The one that was previously in front of him had withered from its life-energy being sucked and died.

"A serpent born from blood, my blood, the blood that runs through my veins, me. I am the blood serpent, its essence.....is my essence, my essence...." Leon sat in front of a puddle of water and contemplated.

Meanwhile, behind him, the silhouette of an ethereal red serpent had begun to form behind him.

A day later

—Boom!!!!!!

Floating in the water directly under the underwater cave, Leon could be seen seated cross-legged. He had on his face a look of relieve as the surrounding water churned.

On the fifth day, Leon had become a level 2 warlock.

(Finally)

Leon was relieved. With the knowledge, he had from trying to comprehend the essence of all Serpents and his constant bombardment from the level 2 warlock he had fought with, Leon could feel when he was on the right path.

But, of course, without that vision he wouldn’t have seen his error all this while. It was all thanks to Levi.

(I wonder which specie you are...) Leon said

But he didn’t expect to receive a reply.

(I have no clue, I just know I’m better than a blood serpent)

Inside of Leon’s mind, a voice resounded causing his eyes to widen beyond belief. Levi was talking to him??

(You can speak?) Leon was momentarily shocked....the snake could speak?

(Of course I can, well, telepathically yes.... I’ve always been able to....oh wait, you’ve not been understanding a thing I said until now?)

Levi tilted it’s small head questioningly. Immediately it evolved, it had been able to hear Leon speak and started mimicking him to speak back. But he never got a response until now.

(Does it have something to do with me being at level 2 now?) Leon thought to himself. There was no other change apart from that, so it had to be the case.

(Maybe, anyway, that’s not important. I sense a strange energy fluctuation at the bottom, I don’t know exactly what it is. But it might be a treasure.....)

Levi said to Leon. He had been hammering on this energy signature for days now, but was ignored as always, so he abandoned the thought. Now that he was sure that Leon could hear him, he suggested they check it out again.

(Uhhhh, why not?)

He had just entered level 2, he was feeling pretty confident right now. So he decided to explore the pool with Levi.

(Good, let’s go)

Levi curled and slithered downward, deeper into the pool.
