Chapter 323 Dungeon (7)- Stage 40

"Lucas, I want to talk to you about something."

Dinner had just ended, and Lucas was contemplating how to spend his night when he didn't need to sleep.

"It's alright, Jerry. Stuff happens," Lucas said to Jerry, who wore an embarrassed expression.

After reading the very emotions someone was feeling, it was harder to not tell whether the person was serious or not.

Although his emotions were in turmoil, Lucas could tell that the man was serious again.

"I'm sorry about what happened earlier. I was supposed to protect you as the tank, not the other way around. I just want to promise that a day like that won't come again," Jerry said, his face serious. Lucas smiled, patted Jerry's shoulder, and walked away from the conversation.

Lucas's plans were ready; now, he only needed to lay the foundation for others to follow and help advance the territory.

From that day, most of Lucas's time was spent completing dungeon stages.

The tasks were not always combat-oriented; some required him to complete simulations to pass the stage. Yet, nothing proved challenging enough for him. Since returning to the Plains of Amaeron, Lucas hadn't needed to exert himself fully.

Two days passed with this routine. During that time, the clay oven was already operational, and Lucas created many simple pottery utensils for everyday use.

He began experimenting with the durability of the pottery, applying the Rune of Unbreaking 1 to some pieces while leaving others without enchantments.

The blood in the tub had already spoiled, so Lucas used it to enrich the soil near Phil's farm, making it more fertile.

The next batch of blood was processed into powder using the oven. It was a tough task, but with Lucas's help, everyone managed to pull it off.

Lucas also crafted uncommon-grade glass bottles to store delicate ingredients such as blood powder.

On the night of the third day since Lucas began frequenting the dungeon, he reached the 40th stage.

At this stage, he finally felt the need to take the challenge seriously, facing a golem made of a hard metal.

The golem was tough to handle, its body harder than the swords Lucas wielded.

Ultimately, Lucas didn't need to go all out. He used his blacksmith's instincts, striking the golem repeatedly at specific points with the sword's hilt.

This skill grants the user the ability to create teleportation circles. At Level 1, the skill enables the creation of small teleportation circles, with each level-up increasing the range.

[Would you like to learn the skill 'Teleportation Circle'? YES / NO]

Lucas smiled and did not touch the 'YES' option. Instead, he tore the paper in two.

As he did, the paper glowed and disintegrated into thin particles, merging with the surrounding atmosphere.

[Skill 'Teleportation (Level 1)' acquired]

As soon as the message appeared, Lucas felt lightheaded. Anticipating the pain that followed, he sat cross-legged on the ground and closed his eyes.

Knowledge of basic teleportation techniques embedded itself in his mind, and Lucas absorbed it eagerly.

Five minutes passed. Lucas remained in the same position, his face serene while his mind raced with newfound knowledge.

A few minutes later, Lucas opened his eyes, and they immediately settled on the teleportation circle in the center.

"I can understand this circle somewhat now... but its complexity shows just how proficient your skills are, Overseer. You truly are a master of the dungeon."

"I am not the master of the dungeon; I am the dungeon. You now possess the lowest level of the same skill I wield, and if used wisely, the feats you can achieve are boundless, Lucas Garde," the Overseer's voice resonated.

Lucas had heard many praises during the 15 years he spent in that quest world, yet a simple compliment from the very Overseer of a dungeon sent goosebumps across his skin.

"Thank you for the kind words, Overseer. I will do my best."

"I know you will. Would you like to continue with the stages?" the Overseer inquired.

"Not at the moment, but would you be open to making another deal?" Lucas asked. Now that he knew obtaining specific skills or items through deals was possible, he couldn't just stop after one deal yielding random, potentially useful items.

"I need to know the contents of the deal first, Lucas Garde," the Overseer responded.
