Chapter 636 56

Chapter 636 56

Merith wondered why the young Mage keep him alive. At first, he thought it was to better protect the village, and using them as forces against larger invasion forces from the City.

However, as 2 months pass by, he saw construction project being completed, with Mages assisting with such project. Few construction projects is not weird in itself. However, when a small village launched several at once, with the latter being bigger, it invoke his curiosity.

Seeing how the Blue Boulder Mercenary Group was helping with the project, he should ask the leader, who he was close to.

"Oh, what we are doing? Well ..." Trance wondered if it was alright to tell Merith. On one hand, he was helped by the older man, so giving him a little information should not be any trouble.

On the other hand, he spill the plan of his new King.

'Though, his Highness should tell Merith earlier. Getting him on board will speed up the transformation of the village.'

"You should ask the K- the young Mage himself. It's his order, and while I know the reason, I cannot tell you if he did not tell you himself." Trance followed up.

Merith looked disappointed, but nodded regardless.

As the older man left, Trance turned to his right-

... only to leap in fright from the sudden appearance of his new King.

"Your Majesty," he clutched his heart, the organ beating like mad. "Please don't do that." he pleaded.

The future King just smiled, one telling him, 'I do what I want, but I take it into consideration'. Trance take whatever he can get.

"You don't tell him. I thought you will do that." his Majesty admitted his thought.

Merith soon see a sight comparable to a house cat shaking under the gaze of a bear. The bear being the teen while the house cats described those who offend said teen.

As the offenders looked seconds away from soiling themselves, the teen looked away, causing the tension on the offenders to bleed out as they slumped forward.

Undignified. Then again, facing the equivalent of a monster and still keeping their lives would make one petrified.

"You must be wondering why I call you here." the teen Mage started, his voice powered with Mana. Even him, a 4th Circle Mage felt like he was being pressed by a giant. Much less the 3rd Circle Mages and equivalent. They downright kneeling, their heads lowered.

The teen smiled, his usage of Mana in his voice clearly planned.

"The reason I call you here is simple." the teen looked at Merith, his gaze seemingly piercing his head. The Mage did his best to not show any sign of fear, but he was afraid it was not working.

"One of you asked the leader of the Blue Boulder Mercenary Group of what the project around the village were." Merith gulped, silently hoping his weird expression went unnoticed. Fortunately, only Ternor noticed. Unfortunately, Ternor noticed.

Ignoring the look his friend gave him, Merith listened to what the teen Mage was saying,

"Under my other, he did not disclose the plan. Mostly because I will tell you the project itself is for." Merith wondered if his question cause the teen to reveal this, or it expedite the entire thing.

"The construction project, which everyone of you will assist after this, is to expend the village into a large city." gasp was exhaled. Merith also one of those.

'Building a city? Th-that's impossible! But it make sense. With a 5th Circle Mage watching over the new City, only fools or non-believers would attempt an invasion. He can easily slaughter all 4th Circle Mages of the City, and other 7 as well at the same time.'

"Of course, building new infrastructures are just one part of the plan. In the future, after more housing were build, you will also convinced some of the nearby villages to migrate."

Merith narrowed his eyes, discretely. To push for migration, the village should attempt to usurp Cruom City, taking portions of its territory population.

The City will try to fight back, Merith believe. Whether they will succeed is unlikely though. The presence of a 5th Circle Mage can easily block any scheme planted by the City.

'The only way to stop the migration and prevent the village from rising is by using negotiation, subtle manipulation. If not, the teen can easily stop it.' Merith hope his remaining colleagues will realize and advise the City Lord that only using their experience in politic would they succeed in defeating the boy.
