Chapter 189 Vampire and Alchemist

Chapter 189 Vampire and Alchemist

The room was posh and exquisitely designed. Bright lights illuminated every corner, an intentional choice. The alchemist clearly anticipated her arrival and sought to bathe the space in as much light as possible, assuming it would weaken her.

"Did he foresee my approach?" Elizalina mused, her sharp gaze scanning the room. She shook her head dismissively.

"Even if he did, it matters not. Light holds no dominion over me."

Elizalina was no ordinary vampire; the power of the sun coursed through her veins. She was called Sol for a reason. However, she knew better than to let overconfidence cloud her judgment. Underestimating an opponent had nearly cost her life during her battle with Carrisa. She vowed not to repeat that mistake.

Her senses heightened, she prepared herself for battle. The blood within her body surged as she summoned multiple crimson daggers, each hovering around her in a defensive formation. If needed, she could dissolve into mist to evade incoming attacks.

She began analyzing the likely strategies the alchemist might employ. He would rely on typical vampire deterrents:

Fire – an all-too-common weapon against her kind, likely through alchemical flames.

Whitewood ash stakes – a bane to her existence if properly used.

Coated weapons – infused with whitewood ash to negate her regeneration.

Poison – specially formulated to weaken her vampiric constitution.

Anti-blood manipulation – either through enchanted artifacts or by infusing his blood with mana to render it resistant to her control.

Moreover, he would likely enhance his physical abilities with body enchantments and rely on healing potions. She assumed he would also use transmutation magic, creating weapons and barriers on the fly. It was a sound strategy, but against someone of her caliber, it would ultimately prove futile. When cornered, he'd likely attempt to flee through the reinforced glass windows of the skyscraper.

"Hello," Elizalina called out smoothly, her voice echoing in the stillness.

"It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance." Continue your story on My Virtual Library Empire

She turned her attention to the corner of the room. Though the alchemist wore an enchanted artifact—a cloak of invisibility—it did little to escape her sharp senses. A sly smile tugged at her lips.

"A cloak of invisibility? How quaint. Does he truly believe such tricks will suffice?"

The man, sensing her gaze pierce through his concealment, dismissed the cloak. He stepped forward, revealing himself.

The alchemist was a middle-aged man with streaks of gray in his otherwise dark hair. A thin mustache adorned his face, complemented by a monocle with a golden chain. His robe bore the emblem of the Truth Association, his allegiance proudly displayed.

"Do you truly believe you can win? Or are you merely delaying the inevitable?"

The alchemist gritted his teeth, his golden blade wavering under the force of her rapier.

"I'll not bow to the likes of you, monster."

"Monster?" Elizalina laughed softly, a chilling sound.

"Perhaps. But even monsters have their uses. Shall we test yours?"

With a sudden burst of speed, she disarmed him, her rapier slicing through the hilt of his golden blade. The weapon clattered to the ground, and before he could react, her blood surged forward, binding him in place. Crimson tendrils coiled around his arms and legs, rendering him immobile.

The alchemist struggled, but his strength-enhancing potions were no match for her hemomancy. She stepped closer, her heels clicking against the floor, and leaned in until their faces were mere inches apart.

"Now," she said, her voice a dangerous whisper.

"Shall we discuss what I want to know? Or must I make good on my promise to deliver pain?"

The alchemist's defiance faltered as fear flickered in his eyes. Elizalina smiled—a predatory, triumphant expression.

"Good," she murmured. "Let us begin."

"You made me do this....ahhhh"

His roar echoed through out the room and from his pocket, he griped a small blue ball.

He quickly crushed it and turned into motes of light escaping through the window.

Elizalina smiled pulling out a magical communicator from her cleavage.

"Amena, the target is heading your way."

Amena's voice came a second later.

"Understood, it is as we predicted... I will capture him..."
