Chapter 270 [Bearer of Fates (II)]
Chapter 270 [Bearer of Fates (II)]
The Chalice of Equilibrium.
My chalice.
"Here. You can have this. At least some one will be able to escape from this craziness," he spoke as he stretched before taking a one last look at the chalice that reached my feet.
Using my feet as I touched that chalice, I took the hidden power inside it, and then immediately regenerated my limbs. Because of the price I paid to escape the prison, these limbs weren't as powerful as the original but still, they were far better than having no limbs.
And then using my powers, I levitated the chalice into my hands, while my eyes looked at it thoroughly, before observing the guy who gave it to me.
I had dozens of questions to ask. Where did he get the chalice? How did he know about me? How much does he know about the whole situation? About Enchantress?
But in the end, there was only one question that came out of my mouth.
"Aren't you going to escape from this city too?" I asked.
Was it out of sympathy? Or was I just returning the favour and hoping to take him with me as I escape from here? I didn't dwell enough on that thought. But it was still something that I wondered about. After all, he felt different. This Fate Weaver... something was peculiar about him.

"There are still a few things that I must finish," he spoke as he scratched the back of his head, before giving me a slight smile as he added," I don't like leaving things halfway."
"Why does it matter? The world is going to end anyway? Or at least, this city is as good as dead," I inquired. It wasn't out of pity for this city, but genuine curiosity. If he was really the same person who can change the fates and destiny, then perhaps... is there meaning to his words? His actions?
It was a definite fate. This city was surely going to end. Based on the destiny and the threads of fate that this city carries, it's inevitable. A doomed city.
Yet...
Why does his words made me relax so much? That confidence didn't seem to carry arrogance but some form of experience.
Adam Wesker, just what kind of Fate Weaver are you?
"Hey, you are back! And you have hands now! Wowsie sister... I totally thought you would have escaped from here," Castellina, the Watcher of Fates, spoke as she looked at me through that blindfold.
She too can sense the threads of fate like me, and honestly she too believes that this city is doomed. Though being a Higher God, it is her duty to participate in what is going to come to the city.
"What happened to that formal polite Castellina? The humans are surely affecting your manner of speech," I joked as I knew she was just teasing me.
For a brief moment, I wondered if I should tell Castellina about it. But then I decided not to.
Despite being one of the people close to me, she was still a Higher God. Someone that I may cross paths with in the future again.
Plus... it doesn't matter whether she knows about it or not. This stage belongs to that Fate Weaver for now... and I, as a Guide, should simply just stand by and watch.
"Haha. Well now that you are already here, help us out with the bandages, the patient's line is never ending here," Castellina smiled as I nodded at her before joining the workers as well.
Maybe for now, let's just wait... and see what Adam is planning.
