Chapter 701 You Cheated!

Chapter 701 You Cheated!

The fight that ensued that day was legendary, and if not for Mark stepping in and using his aura to suppress them both, Louise might've killed Tola. Mark understood that both Louise and Tola were very emotional, and they were not afraid to voice their opinions about whatever they thought, and they were quick to lash out at anyone they felt was insulting them, but Tola needed to learn to pick her battles more sensibly.

Tola sighed in her heart when she heard that there was still no news from the gods, but she bounced back not long after and kept her head high. She was not going to give up on trying to contact Ogun. Ogun had been there for her since the first day she got her blessing and she saw him as a father that she could depend on whenever she was in trouble. Tola swore that she would contact him even if it was the last thing she did.

"Stop clinging to me! What the fuck is wrong with you! We're going for a meeting, so get the fuck off me! Fucking... Did you bring the laptop and the flash? Did you fucking forget the flash!? You didn't bring the flash, what are you – Oh, you brought it? Then stop trying to act coy, you idiot!" Your journey continues with My Virtual Library Empire

Smack!

A loud voice came from outside the executive conference room and everyone turned to the door when they heard it. Mark raised a brow as he heard Pat screaming at someone, and he blinked in surprise as he heard a loud smack ring out in the hallway.

Did Pat just hit Grace?

Mark thought this curiously, and he was proven right when Grace's voice cried out in pain!

"Ow, what did you hit me for!? I was just playing with you! And even if I forgot the flash, we can just give the report without it! We memorized everything!"@@@@

Pat's voice shot right back as the door to the room opened.

"That's not the issue here! It's the principle of the matter!"

Pat was now a lot more tolerant of Grace since they had been working together for five months already, but their antics and interactions were still just as crazy as they were on the first day that Pat and Grace met.

Pat and Grace finally finished setting up the projector, and after a bit of whispering between the both of them that everyone in the room could easily hear and a game of rock-paper-scissors that made Luna chuckle in amusement, Pat started the report while Grace stayed near the podium to set up the various slides and images.

"Do you think they are seeing each other?"

Luna spoke up in a whisper fromt beside Mark so that neither Pat nor Grace could hear it, and Mark just shrugged. Mark didn't really give a fuck about what Pat and Grace were doing when they were alone, but Mark would be surprised if one or both of them didn't have any feelings for the other yet. Pat might be the most blunt and rude person in the world, but even someone like Pat could recognize and appreciate a beautiful woman. And from the way Grace acts around Pat, Mark knew that Grace had some sort of affection for Pat.

Pat started to talk as the projector panned out into an image of the world map with many red lights blinking on it.

"Over the past five months, I and my assistant –"

"Partner!"

Grace turned and gave Pat a glare as she demanded to be called his partner, but Pat ignored her and continued.

"-have been searching the full length of the globe for any unusual activity that might give us some idea of what the syndicate is or what they have been up to recently. Even before the guild was created, Mark and I had been trying our best to find out what the syndicate were, but we weren't able to find anything because of how analog they were. The syndicate had no digital footprint of any kind, and if I didn't know any better, I would've said that the syndicate just didn't exist back then. But since we now have the MDS, we were able to expand our search to more than just digital irregularities and begin looking at things in a more analog manner as well.

"The mana signals around the world over the past few months have been steadily rising. This isn't anything new since it's been that way since years ago when mana was first introduced to us, and the appearance of the Armageddon five months ago also caused serious changes in the ecological nature of the world, but it would have been no problem if that was all that was happening. Last month, my assistant and I found something strange on the coast of the Asian continent. I thought it was another anima that was about to be spit out from the ocean, but this one seemed to act differently from the ones that we've been seeing recently."
