Chapter 673 Meeting The Keiths II

The four of them made their way into the large building, and a woman standing at the side, who was wearing a well-tailored suit that told them that she was one of the ushers, directed them toward one of the tables that had been reserved for them.

The table was very close to the front of the room on the stage where the memorial and charity service was going to take place, and all the other tables around Mark had been reserved for other high-ranking members of the superhuman society. The organizers took the privacy and closeness of superhumans into consideration when setting up the event, so they made sure that members of the same guild and ranks were placed together, while people who were not on good terms or guilds that did not like each other were placed as far away from each other as possible. The table was a circular white one with four chairs around it. Mark sat down with Arit and Luna to his sides and Talia opposite him. Once they were seated, Mark spoke up to Arit.

"Arit, they're going to be listing out a large number of charity organizations, NGOs, and small companies that need funding to be rebuilt because of the Armageddon attack, and people are going to be raising their hands and calling out their numbers to support each organization with any sum they want. I've put fifty in your account already, so if you see any organization that you want to support, you can go ahead and give any amount you want."

Arit blinked in surprise and then blinked again. Mark put fifty? Fifty what? Thousand?

Arit didn't think that was a bad sum to give to an organization. Anyone getting fifty thousand dollars would be extremely happy and it could go a long way in helping a business to rebuild, but Arit already knew in her heart that this wasn't the case. Mark was the sort of person who always went too far at moments like these, and Arit felt like it was necessary to ask Mark what exactly he had put in her account.

Mark's answer almost made her lose consciousness.

"Fifty million."

Talia shouted out in joy when she saw her friend, and she immediately raced toward him and jumped into his arms! James laughed happily as he caught Talia and he, and spun Talia around once before dropping her! Talia asked James what he was doing there, and he said that they were here for the charity dinner as well.

Mark turned around to see James standing there with Greg and his wife behind him. Greg had a small smile on his face as Mark stood up and gave him a handshake, and his wife was also smiling wide as she gave Mark a small hug. Arit stood up to greet the woman happily. Mark and Arit had been worried about what happened to Greg and his family in the chaos, and they had forgotten to check up on them because of all the rescue efforts and missions that had been happening recently. They were glad that the family was doing okay.

Talia and James were still talking excitedly, and Talia asked James where he had been! James explained that he and his family were at the Superhuman Alliance building when the Armageddon broke out, so they were safe with the other survivors! James had been worried about Talia for so long and had been pestering his father to try contacting Mark all this time, but after they saw Mark, Arit, and Talia at a rescue site helping survivors, Greg told James that they shouldn't bother Mark! If not for seeing them on the news, James would have tried to go over to where Mark was just to make sure that Talia was okay!

"Come on! I want to show you something!"

Talia dragged James over to the table, and they both sat down while Luna came over to greet Greg and his wife as well. Once Greg laid eyes on Luna's beautiful face and dress, Greg felt something like lust bubbling up from deep inside him, and he had to squash it down by sheer force of will alone! Luna was unbelievably beautiful, and when she smiled at Greg in that kind, gentle manner, Greg could feel some heat in his face. If not for the fact that he was married, Greg knew that he would have completely fallen in love with Luna right then!
