Chapter 37 – Interested in a wager with me?

Chapter 37 – Interested in a wager with me?

In a small alley, Flange took out two photos.

The scene of Clark and David talking to Luthor from the perspective of the museum's surveillance camera.

"You're really hard to find, Clark."

He shook the photos and smiled.

"Fortunately, you went to the museum exhibition that night."

Flange only remembered Clark's clothes, hairstyle, and half of his profile. It was difficult to find someone based on these alone.

It was late at night, and there was no one in the city except for the exhibition at the Metropolis Museum. He went there to try his luck and actually found them.

"With these photos, it won't be difficult for me as a detective to find you."

"Officer, what do you want us to cooperate with in your investigation?"

Clark swallowed nervously and stared at the person in front of him.

It was strange that a police officer approached him alone and said it was related to a traffic accident. He had a bad feeling about it.

David stood by, arms crossed, watching coldly, wanting to see what this person was up to.

"I really wonder what your foster parents fed you."

Flange's eyes lit up like he was looking at a rare animal in a zoo. He reached out and pinched Clark's strong arm, causing Clark to unhappily push his hand away. Flange seemed startled and raised his hands, but his face had a smug smile.

"Be careful, I can't handle your strength."

"Officer, I don't know what you're talking about."

"Don't pretend. I saw it last night."

He lowered his voice, his annoying head leaned in as if he was very familiar with the person, clapping his hands.

"A wonderful performance, stopping a runaway city bus with one hand."

An unnatural expression appeared on Clark's face, and he was about to speak.

"Clark, do you still want to play dumb at this point?"

Seeing what he wanted to say, Flange shook his head, looking like he had him figured out.

"You can't be that naive, can you?"

The other party didn't seem like he was bluffing. His secret was really exposed. Hearing these words, Clark felt nervous and uneasy, glaring at him angrily.

"Even if elephants have good temperaments."

David spoke coldly, "They are not to be trifled with by humans."

This audacious guy dared to provoke someone who could easily crush him.

"Elephants? It seems you also know your brother's secret."

Flange turned his head to look at Clark. Intercepting this Clark's younger brother was just a side task for him.

I am a righteous detective. I just want you to help me deal with a few ruthless and untraceable gangs."

Having seen Clark's information, Flange knew the personality of this young man in front of him very well.

The wealth he would obtain after eliminating the biggest gangs in Metropolis would be enough for him to live carefree for a long time.

"I won't help you kill people!"

Threatened again, Clark was both anxious and angry, not knowing what to do. He regretted not being more careful last night when saving people, forgetting to check if there was anyone around in advance.

Mainly because the incident happened too suddenly, not giving Clark a chance to react.

"Even if they are gangs with murder cases?"

"That's right!"

Well, this guy in front of him was even more conservative than he thought.

"I don't have to kill them. If you can subdue them, I don't mind."Flange shrugged, all he wanted was money.

"I..."

Seemingly out of options, just as Clark was about to reluctantly agree to take on the gang...

Clap, clap!

"Bold yet cautious."

In the alley, David clapped his hands, his tone steady as if genuinely praising.

"That's a quality a gambler must possess."

His heart was about to leap out of his throat, but he kept a poker face. This cop named Flange was indeed a talent.

A flicker of unease passed through Flange's eyes as his secret thoughts were exposed, but his smile remained unchanged.

He was indeed gambling. An 80% chance of winning didn't guarantee victory, but this gamble was worth it.

If he won this time, he would be set for life.

This secret, he could feast on it for a lifetime!

"Interested in a wager with me?"

David pulled a fifty-cent coin from his pocket.

"What do you want to bet on?"

Seeing the coin in his hand, Flange laughed.

A hint of unease stirred in his heart, sensing something beyond his expectations.

This kid named David Kent, he hadn't taken him seriously before. So what if a kid could beat a few of his peers from the football team? It was just a child's fight.

But now, seeing him in person, from the beginning till now, Flange hadn't seen a trace of anxiety or panic on David's face. He watched with cold eyes, like observing a small bug hopping around obliviously, eerily mature and calm. He wondered what gave him such confidence.

Could it be his monstrous brother?
