Chapter 111 Monolith malfunction, the succubus, & the arcane stone
After reuniting with his mother, his father was confused as well by what was going on as Xander did say that his mother would lose her original body.
He didn't care about any of that for now and just held her tightly. Xander later went to find Sandra and he saw that her father too died.
He noticed a gun in the man's hand and he figured out that he killed himself.
Hearing the door close, Sandra turned around and as she saw Xander, she stood up and immediately hugged him tightly placing her head on his chest.
She cried loudly at this scene.
Yes, her father was a bit of a madman himself but he was still her father who had showered her with love ever since she was born.
She couldn't help but let out the tears and Xander only kept quiet as he held her dearly. Just letting him be there for her was enough.
'He killed himself, obviously he would be angry if I brought him back to life.' Xander thought and then after the whole thing, the Apostles took their wounded members and the rest left back to the base.
In the entire world, after the monolith was destroyed, everything began to return back to normal.
All the players that were flexing their strength slowly lost it all. The ghoulshippers have successfully taken down the cause of the entire thing.
Back at the fortress which was torn down, the monolith, although not functional, still stood tall regardless. The day was already dark and a man who bled profusely strode towards it.
It was Alexander who was beaten badly by Xander after his full strength was revealed.
He walked towards it and then he looked at a specific tablet close to it.
"99,999,993 out of 100,000,000 we were so close, just seven more kills. Just seven more deaths!" He slammed the tablet on the ground as he fell to the ground.
He felt that his ribs were completely broken and he breathed out heavy breaths as he layed down.
He was in so much pain, his vision was already getting blurry as he gazed at the starry sky.
"She can also fly, and control the same flames you do, and she is immortal. So are you, your demons, and your father."
This realization made Xander ponder what it was going to be like living forever but then it might not be so bad after all.
...
After that Day, his father invited him over and they were both standing on top of a very tall tower, looking down on the city.
"Hm? Is that the stone that was in the practice room?" Xander asked his father and Ciel nodded to him.
"Yes, today, I will show you how we have managed to stay hidden for so long. This is only needed when the world matter gets out of hand," Ciel said and then he raised his hand up which held the crystal.
All of a sudden, or shined brightly and Xander looked down on the city.
To his shock, he watched how the destroyed parts of the city came back together, forming the city it once was before the apocalypse.
Xander watched how every single destruction went back together, it was as if his father was reversing time.
After a while it was completed and Xander couldn't help but want to question his father.
"What was that just now?" He asked and Ciel smiled.
"I reversed the damage caused by the ghoulshippers and wiped the memories of the entire thing and even the game from the minds of all the humans involved. This, is the true power and purpose of the arcane stone," Ciel explained and Xander was bewildered.
He also wanted to know where this god-like stone came from, it was too surreal. But then he could summon demons and command them and bring people back from the dead so he couldn't really say much in this matter.
He and his father just stayed on top of the building, and Xander wondered what life was going to be from now on.
"Ah, I wonder if my friends would remember what happened," Xander said and then Ciel shook his head with a bitter smile.
"They knew too much."
