Chapter 48 Overpowered the elf
xander looked at the creature in the middle of the cave who lay lazily while snoring loudly. it was similar to a human but it had elongated ears. that's all.
'it's nice to see an elf up close.' xander thought as he studied the elf man.
he had a chiseled body and looked strong and tall. he lay there on top of the skin of some creature sleeping lazily.
xander then looked at hannah, 'she's only a level 37. she wouldn't be able to defeat him.' he thought.
"stay here. i'll go deal with him." xander said as he walked forward into the cave. with his spear in his hand.
he stopped a little bit further as he outstretched his hand backward, holding the spear in a stabbing form.
his eyes moved between where he pointed the spear and the sleeping elf.
xander's eyes glowed as he threw his spear forward with all his strength. the loud sound of the air tearing and the whooshing sound echoed as in the next second, the spear was already one meter in front of it.
a blue light suddenly flashed, followed by a loud clanking sound. something hit the spear's tip, making it bend, missing the elf's face by an inch.
"what?" xander mumbled as he looked at his spear and wondered whether he should go and pick it up.
"you dare sneak up on me." the elf's deep voice reverberated and xander immediately canceled the thought of going to pick his spear.
the elf, while still lying down moved his fingers without even looking at xander and a blue light moved from the elf's side and flew towards xander.
he looked closely and saw that the blue light was actually an arrow and its speed was oppressing.
knowing that hannah was behind him xander didn't dodge and summoned one primordial bind chain.
he whipped the arrow away with the chain and the elf sat up with a surprised look on his face.
he then laid on his stomach and faced xander directly and then he started moving his fingers again.
she didn't know what happened but it sure looked like the scary skeleton was working with xander.
'what the hell is going on?!' she became confused.
was the monster working with or for xander? how?
'this is getting really weird.' hannah was confused and at the same time wary.

xander was indeed smart. he traded a quick diversion by pretending to miss the elf by throwing the scythe. he then summoned the reaper whose specialty was its speed and stamina.
xander walked slowly towards the elf as the reaper and the elf stared at each other in the eyes.
the reaper didn't have a face so it was impossible to tell its expression. meanwhile, the elf had a terrified expression on his face.
xander pulled out his spear and as he was about to stab the elf the elf immediately shouted, "please don't kill me, sir!" the elf pleaded.
xander stopped and the elf immediately started talking, "please don't. i have to return to my people... no, i'll follow you, i'll be your loyal servant." the elf bargained.
"oh, you would be loyal..."
the elf breathed a sigh of relief.
"...when you're dead."
the elf's eyes shone as he saw the spear flash before him and xander smirked as the head of the lazy elf landed on the floor.
"i've really gotten more heartless," xander said with a chuckle.
