Chapter 809

Chapter 809

The moment the team Gorvin returned to their home base in Nermador, Captain Joraniah announced that their team would be free from doing any mission for the next two days. Sudarta told Anton that it was the normal process for their team, wherein after every mission, they would have two rest days, regardless of whether the mission they had just completed was an easy and short mission or a difficult mission that took longer for the team to complete.Anton thought that after completing their mission somewhat successfully, the team would celebrate a little, but the captain went immediately somewhere. The veteran wizards in the team also looked worried for some reason. Anton imagined that something momentous had happened, and only the captain and those wizards who had extensive connections in the city were aware of what had happened.

Since there was nothing he could do, Anton simply went to his room, declining Farija's invitation to some kind of training. He wanted to focus on leveling up his remaining Diablo II ladder character to the maximum level before the ladder season ended.

He also did not plan to return to the Rose Manor and would stay in his room during the two-day rest that was given to everyone. If any family member needed to reach him, Raymond, the family butler, could use the portal connected to his room in Nermador.

Anton didn’t do anything else for the next two days but continuously level up his character. He did not create any new magic items, did not visit home, and did not even watch anything or read any web novels. The only break that he did was to sleep for three hours, use the toilet, and eat food for a few minutes whenever he got hungry.

Because of that, after twenty-four hours, Anton successfully reached the maximum level for his ladder Assassin character.  Once his assassin reached the maximum level, Anton immediately transferred the Hellfire Torch for Paladin characters that he had already prepared.

The Hellfire Torch charms that Anton was gathering were making him extremely powerful. The fact that his Diablo System allowed him to stack those unique torches for up to eight of them, one for each Diablo II character, truly allowed him to increase his power greatly. He wondered if he would reach the Invincible Rank once he had all eight of the torches. More than likely, just collecting eight Hellfire Torches would not allow him to reach that powerful rank. It might take him one more ladder season before he reaches the said rank. There was also a chance that once he concentrated on his Diablo Immortal character, that character would allow him to reach the Invincible Rank. Unfortunately, his Diablo Immortal character stagnated simply because he did not touch it for a long time. He had to concentrate on his Diablo II character because of the limited time of the ladder season.

After another twenty-four hours of leveling up his ladder Amazon character, which was the last Diablo II character that Anton needed to level up for the current season, he expected to be interrupted by someone asking to attend a meeting being held by Captain Joraniah regarding the next mission that would be assigned to them, but no one disturbed him.

Anton got curious enough to summon a maid to inquire about the captain and the rest of the team. The maid informed him that the captain had just announced a couple of minutes ago to inform everyone at the base that the rest day would be extended for another two days. When he inquired for more information, the maid just told him that the captain was busy meeting with other team captains and the higher-ups of Nermador. The maid even gossiped that Nermador might do something huge soon. Anton did not have any theory regarding any situation that might have occurred that made everyone extremely busy, so he just decided to continue focusing on what he was doing.

First, he spent a couple of hours creating more of the Mithril Tablet of Survival spells since there was a chance that the captain would request more of the said tablets.  After that, he continued leveling up his ladder Amazon character. After a few hours, he would rest by creating more of the Mithril Tablets. He switched between creating the Mithril Tablets of Survival Spells and the Mithril Tablets of Defensive Spells.

He thought about creating a summoning tablet, but the fact was, Anton felt that the summons that he could inscribe on Mithril Tablets would be a little weak, so he decided to just focus on spells that would empower the Nermador wizards.

After twenty-four hours of continuous grinding, his ladder Amazon leveled up to level seventy. Because of that, Anton became confident that he would complete his goal of reaching the maximum level of all of his eight Diablo II characters before the ladder season ended.

Anton only rested for around three hours a day. Because of his Pearl of the Ocean item, those three hours were enough for him to have a full rest. After another twenty-four hours, he managed to collect thirty-five Mithril Tablets of Survival spells and twenty-five of the Mithril Tablets of Defensive spells. He planned to give them all to Captain Joraniah to be distributed to the wizards of Nermador.

His ladder Amazon leveled up to level eighty-eight. Just a few more, and his goal for the current ladder would be complete. When he summoned the maid to inquire about the situation with the captain, he was startled when the maid told him that the rest day had been extended for another two days.

Anton wasn’t worried about the safety of his captain or his teammates since no one had left Nermador, but he couldn’t wait to know the reason for the meeting that was taking Nermador a long time to hold. His other teammates were busy training, and no one faulted him for not joining any training since he kept telling the maid to tell everyone that he was busy creating Mithril Tablets.

After two more days, Anton collected fifty of the Mithril Tablets of Survival spells and fifty of the Mithril Tablets of Defensive spells. He also finally reached the maximum level of his ladder Amazon character. He immediately transferred the Hellfire Torch, which specialized in Druid skills that he had already prepared from the game, to the real world.

Anton was glad that he had completed his immediate goals. He felt a little burnt out, so instead of reaching out to anyone to inquire about the status of the meeting that the Nermador higher-ups had been conducting together with the different team captains, he decided to unwind by taking a nap and binge-watching some television sitcoms.

If anyone needed him, Anton would just be in his room and could be reached by anyone. At the very least, he felt that no one would fault him for not taking part in team training since he would be able to present a total of one hundred Mithril Tablets.

After another few hours, a maid finally knocked on his door to inform him that everyone was being summoned by the captain. Anton cleaned himself first using his Cleaning spell, then went to the meeting room.

Once he arrived there, Anton saw that he was the last one to arrive.

“Anton, I was told that you didn’t join any team training?” Captain Joraniah asked.

“I was busy creating Mithril Tablets,” Anton replied and handed the captain all of the Mithril Tablets he had made.

The one hundred tablets, half of which were the Mithril Tablets of Survival Spells and half were the Mithril Tablets of Defensive spells, delighted not only the captain but everyone in the team.
