Chapter 808

Chapter 808

Anton focused on leveling up his Assassin ladder character since he only had three weeks before the ladder season would end. He was hoping that the remaining time that he had would be enough time to level up his last two remaining Diablo characters, which were the Assassin and the Amazon characters. At first, Anton considered creating another type of Mithril tablet based on one of his spells. Maybe a tablet focused on summons, but he decided that the tablets that he had already given his team were enough for now. If questioned about what he did in the hours before the mission began, he would tell everyone he was in the middle of research. It was already commendable that Anton had produced two types of Mithril tablets that would greatly assist the team.

Anton did not stop until someone knocked on his door, informing him that it was time for them to leave for their mission. He was happy that he was able to level up his Assassin ladder character to level eighty-five.

The captain told Anton that for the mission, they would be using the Mithril Tablet that he gave the team as a test for the tablets. Thankfully, even if the skill level of the Cloak of Shadows spell in the Mithril Tablet of Survival spells was only level twelve, its coverage was wide enough to envelop everyone.

Once the sun had set, team Gorvin started their journey to the base that was established by the Undead Coalition. He noticed that the Captain had a magic item that he could use to communicate with the four other teams that were also on the way to the mission location.  Anton was happy to note that, based on the tidbits that he had overheard from the captain’s communication with the other teams, the other teams were happy with the Mithril Tablets that Anton had made.

The whole team was flying towards the mission location, but they were flying low on the ground. It was easier for the Cloak of Shadows spell not to be noticed if they were near the ground.

Anton advised the captain before they started their journey that he would activate the Paladin’s Vigor Aura to make sure that the stamina of everyone on the team would be at their peak. He would switch the auras once in a while from the Vigor Aura to the Meditation Aura, to the Prayer Aura. The Meditation Aura would keep their mana full, and the Prayer Aura would heal any damage that their bodies might incur due to their fast flight.

Based on Anton’s understanding of the others' flight spell, a normal flight spell would have a limited duration. The only reason why higher rank wizards were able to fly continuously was the simple fact that they had memorized several types of flight spells. Once a duration had ended, they would cast their second flight spell and so on. The Meditation Aura would allow the wizards to memorize their flight spells, if they needed to, in seconds.

Mishos told Anton that their journey to the mission location would take them eight hours of flying time, which meant that it was really far. Still, because they were under the cover of the Cloak of Shadows spell, they were not disturbed by any enemies.

Based on what he had overheard from Captain Joraniah’s communication with the other teams, their situation was the same. Every team's journey was smooth sailing simply because of Anton’s Cloak of Shadow spells. Since it was a new spell, the undead did not have any means to counter it yet, unlike the Invisibility spells.

By the time they gathered in the mission area, the captain had to dispel the Cloak of Shadow simply because each team was in separate party systems. It meant that their Cloak of Shadow spells would make everyone not part of their teams blind.

Unfortunately, there was no such thing as a raid party. That meant that every team's attack points would be separated into five. One for each of the parties.

Once all five teams had gathered, two people were assigned to enter the Undead Coalition’s base to scout.

When the assigned scout left, everyone settled down to wait. Unfortunately, after just a few minutes, they heard the commotion at the base, which meant that either scouts had been discovered.

Anton saw Mishos “HP,” which was his life indication presented by the party system, fluctuating, which meant that the wizard was receiving huge damage. Mishos had a lot of healing spells, and he also had the Mithril Tablet of Survival spell that had the Prayer Aura. When Anton saw that Mishos’ HP stabilized, he thought that more than likely, Mishos had managed to hide using one of his spells or the Cloak of Shadow spell.

Their team did not know the status of the other scout since that wizard was part of another team’s party system.

The captains of each of the five teams decided not to wait any longer and started their attack. Each team would be under the cover of the Cloak of Shadows spell. The plan was simple. They would start sweeping off the enemies, killing all the undead they would encounter under the cover of the Cloak of Shadows spell. To avoid chaos, each team would attack separately.

Once team Gorvin entered the Undead Coalition’s base, Anton summoned all of his summons. The good thing about being part of a party system, all summons of the party members would automatically be under the rules of the party system, meaning they would also be under the cover of the Cloak of Shadow spell.

When Anton asked Captain Joraniah if they should use his Cloak of Shadow instead of the one in the Mithril Tablet, the captain declined. Captain Joraniah still wanted to test the Mithril Tablet.

Anton commanded all of his summons to protect the wizards to their utmost ability, even at the cost of their lives, since if the summons were killed, he would just summon them again. To make sure that his summons would be at their peak, he chose to use the Fanaticism Aura. One of the other team members activated the Prayer Aura from the Mithril Tablet, and some were utilizing the Barbarian’s War Cry.

So far, Team Gorvin had been sweeping off all the enemies they encountered, even the most powerful ones. When they encountered three Lord Rank vampires, which were equivalent to a Supreme Rank wizard, Anton switched to mainly using the Paladin’s offensive spells since they were highly effective against the undead.

The battle was grueling, but they successfully destroyed the three high-level vampires. Because of their experience, they noticed when the vampires attempted a suicidal attack that would cause massive damage and managed to avoid it.

Once the vampires were dealt with, Anton topped off his team’s energy, life, and stamina using his Paladin’s auras, then they continued battling with the other undead.

The battle lasted until noon the next day. Team Gorvin remained safe, but unfortunately, two supreme wizards, who were members of other teams, were killed.

Based on the reaction of the captains of each team, even though the deaths of two wizards were tragic, the mission was considered a success. Sudarta whispered to Anton that all teams killed a total of fifty supreme rank undead creatures of different varieties. Sudarta admitted that they were only successful because there were no Semi-Divine or Divine Rank creatures among the undead.

After the whole base was destroyed, especially the dimensional gate, they looted the whole place and then planted the spatial destabilizer deep underground. All teams started their journey home to Nermador. Captain Joraniah was extremely happy since they had not lost anyone in this dangerous mission.
