Chapter 472 Give Me My Five Minutes

"dad, l-let's go to the café and sit down. we can talk about this. i'll explain everything, please."

arit grabbed her father by the hand and slowly started to lead him out of the elevator towards the hotel. arit knew that her father was in shock right now. it would definitely shock anyone to find out that their child killed two of her own schoolmates. but arit was certain that she could salvage this. she knew her father best, so if she explained everything to him, she knew that he would understand!

the sound of sirens intensified from outside the hotel, and many of the people outside were starting to grow concerned as they saw multiple police cars racing towards the hotel! the police cars didn't stop for anybody, so some people even had to jump out of the way so that they wouldn't get hit!

normally, arit would have considered the fact that maria did not know her father, and she would have wondered how her father was able to get this information at all since there was no way maria could have told him about it. normally, arit would have thought of all the angles and realized that there was probably something bigger going on right now.

but at this moment, arit was not thinking straight either. she was just trying her best to make sure her father didn't see her as a killer.

but arit didn't know that her actions were enough to confirm everything that arthur had just said. arthur allowed arit to drag him forward, and he stared at her with wide, disbelieving eyes as he realized that she didn't deny what he said. arit really killed those two. then, does that mean that what alec ben said all this time was true? was arit really an animal?

"arit, stop! stop! i said fucking stop and answer me right now! who are you and what did you do to my daughter!? i swear to god, arit, if you don't answer me right now—"

arthur dragged his hand away from arit's grasp roughly, making her stop in her tracks. arthur was heaving and staring at arit like he was looking at a stranger. arit immediately tried to talk to her father in a calm voice.

"dad, i know you're confused, but i can explain everything. if you'll just listen to me. just give me five minutes, and i'll tell you everything that happened. please."

"answer me right now, young lady! did you kill them or not!?"

arit grit her teeth as she felt the people around her starting to pay more attention to them. she nodded her head slowly as her father's disappointment almost made her cry.

"y-yes... i did. b-but i can explain! dad, i can explain! just let me—"

arit was suddenly cut off as the sound of the sirens outside got even louder, and arit quickly turned to the door leading into the hotel as she heard multiple police cars screeching to a halt in front of it! more than a hundred military personnel started to come down from their vehicles as they all raced towards the hotel, and arit took steps back as she wondered what was going on.

the entire hotel shook right down to its foundation, and almost everyone fell to their asses as they felt the impact!

"kya!"

"a bomb went off! it came from upstairs!"

"is it an anima attack!?"

the policemen and some of the superhumans that were standing in the hotel all looked up once the explosion rocked the hotel, and some of them even ran outside to try and see what was the cause of it. arit didn't waste any time as she used that moment of distraction to transform!

arit's skin turned purple, the horns grew from her head, and large wings tore themselves out from her back as she unleashed the queen!

"it's an anima! run!"

a woman who had been standing behind arit quickly screamed in fear once she saw her, and people started to run away as they thought that arit was there to harm them! the police officers opened fire on arit immediately, and the superhumans activated their blessings to try and restrain her, but arit completely ignored them all as she just took off!

arit made it out of the hotel and blasted into the sky while avoiding the bullets and projectiles that were being thrown at her! a bullet grazed her skin and an armor-piercing round dug into her arm, but she ignored the pain and kept flying! she looked for mark's apartment, and her eyes widened when she saw that it was their apartment that had been blown to pieces!

arit immediately flew into the hole in the wall and shouted out for mark.

"mark! mark, where are you!?"
