the elevator door finally opened up and revealed the lobby to them. there were a few people standing in front of the elevator, waiting to go up, and they all seemed to shuffle slightly once they laid eyes on the father and daughter.

they could all feel the nervous energy surrounding the two of them, and looking at them right now almost seemed like some sort of invasion of their privacy, like they were seeing something that shouldn't be done in public.

the people slowly started to enter the elevator, and arit tried her best to remain calm as she stepped out of the way to allow some of them through.

arit took a step out of the elevator, and arthur turned towards her fully and stared her down with even more intensity. for the first time in her life, arit could see genuine anger in her father's eyes. her father had never even shouted at her before.

arit couldn't hear the queen saying anything in her head, and it was almost like the queen was just as shocked as she was! arit turned her eyes away from her father. she had no idea how her father could have found out about that. arthur had been in africa all this time, so there was no way he had time to look into the killings. that could only mean that someone told him about it!

someone told her father that she murdered francis and esmeralda.

the answer came to arit almost immediately, and she felt anger rising inside her body as she realized who was responsible for this! as far as arit knew, only three people knew about her killing those two. her, mark, and maria. there was no way mark would say anything about this, so that meant that the only person who could have said something was maria. arit swore that she would make maria pay later.

mark wondered who the hell kevin was talking to, and he was about to unleash a punch on kevin when he noticed the surroundings light up as multiple magic circles suddenly bloomed to life! mark's eyes widened, and kevin smiled like a maniac as he shouted gleefully!

"i told you i would be back! you're not the only one that can rise from the dead! but this time, i'm going to make sure you stay dead, king!"

the magic circles started to grow brighter, and mark immediately glanced to the side and managed to get a look at the magic circle. the magic circle was blue, and it surrounded mark and kevin on all sides, basically enveloping them in a cocoon of light.

but once mark saw the magic circle, he was able to recognize what it did!

'it's sasha's magic circle! is he trying to take us to the alterworld!? this fucking bastard!'

mark cursed in his mind, and he knew at that moment that there was nothing he could do to get out from the cocoon. none of mark's skills were capable of moving him out of the circle's range of effect quickly enough, and he didn't have a foothold that would allow him to get out of there. kevin had played his card perfectly, and mark was trapped in a suspended state that was practically inescapable!

in a split second, mark tilted his head to the side, and he narrowed his eyes as he just managed to catch a glimpse of jeanne leaning over the hole in the floor and looking down at him. mark shouted out to talia.

"talia! i'm sending you up! jeanne will catch you!"

talia's eyes had been closed all this while, and she had hugged her body tightly against mark's chest so that she didn't disturb mark as he was fighting, but once mark shouted that he was going to throw her, talia felt fear fill her entire body as she looked up and saw how far away they were from the top floor! mark was trying to throw her up there!?

mark didn't even give talia a chance to complain as he spun around in the air and released her at the perfect moment, shooting her up like a bullet!

up in mark's apartment, jeanne reached out her hand desperately once she saw mark throwing talia! jeanne had no idea that mark was going to throw talia up like that, but jeanne managed to adapt quickly enough, and she knew that mark expected her to catch talia. jeanne caught talia's hand at the perfect moment before pulling talia into the apartment!

the magic circles surrounding mark and kevin shone brightly once more before taking them both into the alterworld.
