Chapter 589: There’s A Traitor

Chapter 589: There’s A Traitor

Mark chuckled as he imagined Arit shouting at their kids to go to bed because it was late or telling them to eat their vegetables when she makes it for them. Arit already nags at him whenever he does something silly, so he knows it would be no different for their kids. Experience exclusive tales on Freewebnovel

But that doesn’t mean Mark loved her any less and even though the kids might complain a lot, Mark was more than sure that they’ll love her too.

"You would nag at them, but I don’t think anyone can hate you, Arit. You’ve been taking care of Talia all this while, and I don’t know anyone better at caring for others than you. You’ll spoil our kids rotten, and they’ll fucking love you. I’m sure of it."

Arit chuckled as she imagined a little boy with Mark’s face and black hair running around the house and helping her with errands, and she felt her blush deepen even more.

"Let’s have a big family, Mark. When everything calms down and we’re both ready. Let’s have many, many kids."

Mark smiled and ran his hand through Arit’s hair again as he imagined having a large family living together out in the countryside. It wasn’t a bad dream to have at all as far as Mark was concerned.

"Yeah. I’d really like that."

Even though Mark knew that his life was probably never going to be that calm with all the craziness surrounding him every day, he would try his best to make sure his kids didn’t suffer through the same thing. Fuck the gods and fuck the anima. Mark was going to make sure they never touched his kids.@@@@

Arit sighed as she slowly started to drift off into sleep after the stress of everything that had gone on today started to catch up to her. She had come straight from the real world and was thrown straight into fighting a battle she had no idea about just a few days ago, so Mark wasn’t surprised that she was tired.

Mark frowned as this thought crossed his mind, wondering if he was missing something. But he shook his head, realizing he wasn’t. The Angels sent out two S-tiers and multiple A-tiers. It wasn’t that the Angels didn’t think Mark would be there; it’s just that they didn’t think he’d be as strong as he was. They underestimated him, and that was the reason why it was so easy for him to kill that first S-tier Angel. Once she was dead, everything else fell apart from there.

"Mmh~ Mark, you’re still awake? What is it? Is something on your mind?"

Arit’s sleepy voice reached Mark as she shifted a bit on his chest to get more comfortable. She knew he must be tired from the battles he fought and the intense session they just had, so he should be asleep already. The only reason he wouldn’t be sleeping was if something was bothering him. Mark hummed calmly before he answered truthfully.

"I think there’s a traitor in the demon army. I’m thinking about how to find out who it is."

There was a beat of silence, and for a moment, Arit froze as though she had been turned to stone! But then she suddenly sat up in bed with wide, shocked eyes that stared down at Mark in surprise! What did he just say? A traitor!? Arit hadn’t even thought about the possibility of something like that, so hearing it from Mark was enough to make her jump straight out of sleep!

"What do you mean there’s a traitor? What...? How? Is it because of the attack from earlier? The reinforcements that came to help the Angels?"

Mark reached out and brought Arit back down so they could talk in low whispers. They were in a new world, and he didn’t know who he could trust in the army. Someone might be listening in on their conversation, so he didn’t want Arit to spill the news of a traitor before he could come up with a proper plan for catching them.

Mark nodded as Arit shuffled closer to him and rested her chin on his chest. She looked up at him while lying her body on top of his and tangling their legs together.
